For those of you interested. Look for a column called GRAIN OF SALT.

Eventually I'll create a page in my online portfolio. For now, you'll have to shell out the 75 pennies at a local stationery or King's.

Have not read this week's paper yet, but have been meaning to tell you how much I have enjoyed past writings by you. Thanks for your points of view and food for thought for many of us!
Continued success!!

I can't wait to get home and see it!

For next week, hmmm, I didn't see your columns till a couple of weeks ago, so maybe it's been done, but based on the forecast how about snow, snow removal, snow adventures (driving?), avoiding ice on the sidewalk while seeking it out in Mem Park and at St. James, age-based attitudes to snow.... Not exactly untouched territory though.

Jon Stewart as president of the BOE?

happy writing!

How about mentioning the quickly improving condition of most of the homes here in the same breath as the fact that people claim they can't afford property tax. That may be too confrontational for a humor column, but you could use Jon Stewart as a role model. He manages to be funny.

Thanks, Joel. My wife and daughters got a kick out of the column, though my wife shot me a dirty look when she read that I have over 11,000 posts. My 8th grader said, "I love Tom Reingold" which is what her friends say to tease her, I guess. It seems their parents throw my name around. It's so weird.

So Joel, how come you didn't give the URL in the column!?

"I made the news today, oh boy..."

Maybe it's better this way. Imagine if thousands of people joined in a short space of time.

For the record (no pun intended), the urls were in the original I submitted and were edited out by the newspaper.

Joel

This one may be played to death, but how about something regarding "Parents in the bleachers (or on the sidelines)". There are many of us in town who have coached and might be willing to share some anecdotes.

Just a thought. Good luck.
I enjoyed your column this week as well, and, like Tom, roared at the bit about Pippi and Notehead. Great stuff

Thanks
TK

Don't know why VIG's post made me think of this..

Yente: The postman told me there was a letter for your sister, Hodel, from her incumbent, Perchik.
Tzeitel: Oh, she'll be so happy to hear from him. I'll go and pick it up later.
Yente: It's okay, I already picked it up.
[Tzeitzel sees that it already has been opened]
Tzeitel: But it's open.
Yente: So it was open.

For those of you who live out of town, I made a PDF of the article. You may have to adjust it to read it well.

One of the buttons should rotate it for you; you can also enlarge or decrease the size. Newspaper works best, though. Only .75

It's even cheaper if you come to the Library to read the Record. We have two copies you can read for free and not increase their circulation.

Not that there's anything wrong with increasing their circulation. Like it or not, it is our community newspaper. And I know they work very hard (my lazy column notwithstanding!) :-)

Thanks. I printed it out and took it to bed to read. I knew Pippi and Notehead were married , but didn't realize they were STILL not living under the same roof, and hadn't even met F2F yet! (and it has been 15 months! )

Thanks for the offer, LibraryLady, are you sure I'm allowed in? <g>

It's how we keep our marriage "fresh"
