Has anyone ever used ebay or Craiglist to get discount broadway tickets? I've barely used either site for anything so don't really know how it works or whether it's legit. One store on eBay seems to just sell you some kind of coupon so you can then get 1/2 price tix but I'm a bit leery. I'm trying to not have to go into the city and ordering from the ticket sites/brokers hits you with big service fees, obviously. |

I've purchased baseball, concert, and broadway tickets on EBay--very reliable service. Just make sure you read where the seats are located before you bid. BroadwayBox.com has all the latest deals and their appropriate codes for buying discounted theater tickets (those shows that aren't a huge hit). Good luck. |

There are also half price ticket coupons available at the Library for many shows as well. |

If you have an Amex, try the Broadway tix page on yahoo.com -- they have substantial discounts for cardholders. |

Another great source of discount Broadway tix are the telecharge and NYT newsletters. I've gotten some amazing discounts through the Times- like $20 seats to Glass Menangerie this past summer! As for Craigslist, I'd see if the person would meet you near the theater and be willing to go to the box office to verify the tickets, especially if they're very expensive. |

Thanks, I ended up going thru Craigslist and it worked out fine. But that Broadwaybox.com site seems like it would work well, also. |
