Because we don't open until Feb. 9th so I was waiting until next week, JTA. Most threads about theater die quickly so I wanted to wait until closer to the actual opening to post about the show. Look for a thread on Monday of next week. In the mean time info can be found here thanks for the interest JTA "The truth is always a compound of two half- truths, and you never reach it, because there is always something more to say."-- Tom Stoppard

Sorry Duncan! Good thing I mentioned it though. I thought for sure the person who mentioned it to me is under the impression it starts this weekend. |

Yea...just look for a really tall guy, a somewhat smaller gal and a 5 year old, undoubtedly screaming "GET OUT THE MAP" Oh, and he will be wearing his 2003 tour shirt |

Great show Sat. night. A lot of people cancelled out so we had a small house of about 50 people, but it was a group of people who really wanted to see the show. Undaunted by the weather, and knowing they would be facing a rough ride home, they stayed and laughed and had nearly as much fun as those of us on stage. The only bummer is that today was cancelled and today the NY Times was to come and review it. Sadder still is that Sat night in that small house was a freelance NY Times critic who was there socially with his wife cause it is her favorite play. He is the guy who wrote the "west of the Hudson" piece that ran a few weeks ago and that mentioned Suzanne Douglass and myself among others. Too bad he couldn't submit his thoughts. He really enjoyed the show. I do hope some of you will make the trip out to Morristown. It is a fun show and by all accounts (and despite a lot of behind the scenes trauma) quite a good production as well. Plus you get to see me play the Uke! That should be enough for one of our more famous posters We will see what the Star Ledger has to say about it tomorrow. Bummer of a placement, on a Monday, but what you gonna do. |

Duncan - congrats on the wonderful review!! http://www.nj.com/theater/ledger/index.ssf?/base/entertainment-0/113980926620174 0.xml&coll=1
Quote:Duncan M. Rogers, one of the state's best at playing light comedy, is terrific at showing Murray's breezy irresponsibility. As he saunters through his cluttered apartment, he blithely but softly kicks away any object that gets in his way. When he does much the same with the two social workers, an audience just has to love him.

Every one thinks its too long because our attention span, as a society, has shortened by 23 minutes since the play was written in the 60's. I am glad to know that they liked it. I hope it helps sell some tickets. |

It's long, but when did that become a negative? It's a very well written play and Herb Gardner made every scene well crafted and "necessary". Go see Duncan and the rest, as the wife & I did last night (closes 3/5?). |

Thanks to everyone who came and saw the show. LazyDog, DrewDix and any one I missed. It was fun, but now its on to the Rainbow Room for a limited engagement with Alison Fraser. |
