Can anyone recommend a venue that would be a fun place to hold a birthday party for an adult? It could be a facility where food could be brought in, or a restaurant that either has a private party area or could be rented, or some other place entirely. The party is to take place in late spring, if that makes any difference. Thanks! |

How many people? I think you can still rent out Heres2theArts for private parties. |

Not sure yet how many people. I'm guessing over 20, but under 40. Maybe. |

Depending on your budget...the Maplewood Club at the top of the hill dresses up really well...although it is intended for larger events I have been there for events in the 40 range and it worked really well...for under 40 I wouldn't though...they have a private caterer... |

Cryan's has a private room - casual atmosphere. They've added a lot of live music recently, if you like that. They've also changed the menu recently, I've only been there once since then, the night it was introduced actually, and we all enjoyed our dinners. |

The Maplewood Tennis Club (not sure if that's the name) has a great room for a party. It's big though |

This is all good...thanks, everyone. Let me further specify that I am not looking for a formal place, but also not just a bar. Would like to serve alcohol, and have some music. Buffet food, not sit-down. This is my first foray into an event like this, and I clearly have no idea what I am doing, so please keep suggestions coming. |

Ess Then your best choice would be Heres2thearts. They don't allow smoking btw. Bunny's has the area in back you could probably use. The Resoviour has a seperate room my brother's used for parties several times. Anywhere from 20-40 people. What are you looking for in the way af music? DJ, band, CD's, piped in background, Juke Box? |

If Your Looking For A Dj, You should definitly use "The Party Maniac". Since their high school students their very reasonably priced, and do a great job. I think their e-mail is partymaniac@gmail.com I saw them at a couple events, and all of the guests loved it. |

JTA, neither H2TA, nor Bunny's, nor Resevoir is formal. How about Voro, or, although a bit more casual, Neicey's? |

Ah, Dego, I know they aren't 'formal.' I thought the OP said they weren't looking for some place formal. |

Ess, we recently went to a party at Cryan's and I didn't know what to expect, I had never been. The food was better than I expected, the private room was comfortable, and from what our neighbor told us, the price was very reasonable. It was an afternoon event, so the bar area was empty. Bathrooms were very clean (the kids were with us so I had to make a few trips there). |

Thanks all.... I will be looking into some of the places mentioned. Have not decided what to do about music. Will probably have some other form of entertainment as well. Guess the music/food issue would be dictated by the place. If other venues/ideas come to mind, please don't hesitate to share! I'll need all the help I can get. |

I celebrated my 20th birthday in college with my 8 housemates at Chuck E Cheese! we were stoned out of our minds, playing on all the rides. The other patrons were none too pleased, but boy, did we have fun... <sigh> ah youth |
