I watched it on Discovery, with ten thousand commercials. Did Treadwell strike anyone else as pretty swishy? I expected someone a little more macho. What was he protecting the bears from, anyway? He acted as if he had personally protected them all summer. When the fisherman (understandably) chunked a rock at a nosey bear, he put on an outraged and oddly maternal air (That is IT! How DARE they stone Freckles!), but did he do anything? He was like a crazy old lady in Long Island who treats her dogs like people.

When Werner Herzog listens to the death audio on headphones with his back to the camera, and then sighs and tells the woman who owns the tape she must never listen to it, nor look at the morgue photos, and in fact she should destroy the tape - how much is honest empathy and how much is really sly theater? Gives you goosebumps.

The whole thing is so absurd. Kind of a glitch that fixed itself. Timothy Fedwell.

Pretty swishy? Not too much..... his dialogue was killing me.

Like the part where he flipped the bird to the Forest Rangers [over and over etc]?

He clearly had mental issues.

It was a train wreck with 17 minutes of commercials.

The show was awful. A bloody waste of time - even on Tivo the commercials were overwhelming.
