Whit Stillman's "Metropolitan" (1990) just came out on DVD.

"I guess you could say it's extremely vulgar. I like it a lot."

("Last Days of Disco" (1998) was once on DVD but is now out of print. Perhaps it will soon get its own Criterion Collection version.)

Excellent gift idea for my wife, thanks! Will Kempe is her cousin! I saw this movie with her at the Angelika when it first came out.

The word is out: Netflix now shows "Metropolitan" available only after a "long wait."

For the longest time it was on my list of movies that were only on VHS. ("Wide Sargasso Sea" also made the leap recently.)
