Think its time to start this thread for the new season. Who are the favorites? Mine is Paris among the girls and Ace, surprise, surprise among the guys. |

The women tonight were awful. I'll vote for Paris and Kellie to be in the final four. I'll cast my male votes tomorrow, as if anyone cares. |

The women were horrific tonight. I'm going Paris, Taylor or Mandisa. But I'll be looking at Ace. |

I think Taylor is great, but I also like Chris (the bald dude with the raspy voice) and Elliot (he sang Steveie Wonder last week). Ace has a good voice too, although it's a bit too "boy band" for me. As for the women, I thought they were all pretty terrible last night. I do like Katherine McPhee and I think Mandisa will do well once she picks better songs. My six year old is partial to Kellie Pickler! |

Something about Ayla I just don't like. I'm not sure what it is, but where Kellie Pickler has an average (for this competition) voice and great personality, I feel like Ayla is the opposite. Anyway I really enjoyed the guys last night and agree with your three choices, though I would change the order to: 1. Chris 2. Taylor 3. Elliot But then I'm a rocker girl at heart. |

Yes, but my order is: 1. Elliot 2. Chris 3. Taylor (would rank higher, but his spastic "whoo!"s, "hey"s, and "yeah"s make me uncomfortable.) I also think Chicken Little is adorable!!!! Which one is Kevin? |

they're treating him like a novelty or puppy dog, but who knows, it may make him popular back home. it just feels wrong to me when I watch it. he's too young to be humiliated on national TV by the likes of Simon. |

I actually think Simon was kindest to him - he was truthful - said the kid was nice but not talented enough for the competition which is TRUE. There is no way he should be there. |

Really, do you think he's being harmed by this? Seems to me he's having a blast, but maybe I'm missing something. As for him being humiliated by the Chicken Little comparison, you can't blame American Idol for that -- I'm sure he's been called CL before the show even aired. My husband and I have been referring him as that for weeks now -- the likeness is simply uncanny! |

I don't think he realizes that people are laughing at him. And being called Chicken Little in front of 20 MILLION PEOPLE adds a little extra zing. |

I don't think they're making fun of him. My nephews, sister and I think he's a 'cute' kid! They told me he reminds them of Clay. The one person we can't wait to be voted off is 'Miss I'm Better Then Everyone Else.' We'd like to see Kellie or Mr 'You Give Love a Bad Name.' |

Something about Ayla I just don't like. I'm not sure what it is, wendyn, I like her voice, however, she kind of comes across as an "Ice Queen." Like Simons says, "mechanical." She has to show more personality. I have her on my list because the past 2 weeks her voice sounded great! THANK GOD BRENNA IS GONE!!! Heather had to go and Chicken Little barely survived.

Mandisa was unbelievable the other night----nobody even came CLOSE to her performance. If she keeps singing like that, I don't see how she can be defeated.

Paris is a good performer but I am not sure about her vocal strength. Do you really think she is a top 4 or could be the number #1? The men are stronger this year for sure. In the end it is the actual votes that count.

After the last perfomance by the ladies, Mandisa IS the one to beat. She reminds me of Frenchie. However, that Kellie girl may be a sentimental favorite. Chris, for the guys. With a close Taylor and Elliott to follow. What a shame, Gedeon left before 'Chicken Little." |

So, who is going home tonight? I don't think Bucky was very ducky, so I say it's him. The stylists did a great job last night, I thought. Although the judges didn't think so, I thought Chris' rendition of I Walk the Line was excellent. He made it his own song. I thought Kevin did a good job. In fact, all of the others were very good. |

Lisa is running out of steam. I suspect that she came in with the youthful arrogance of someone who has a career in public performance, thinking that she had it in the bag. She is incredibly talented. Some growing up and a good dose of humility will make her a star in a few years. She may actually be the one who goes tonight. She or Bucky. Mandisa should win, but I don't know if she will. Chris or Paris are my predictions. Kelly is just too cutesy and a clone of Underwood, so I think she will go home, too. Ace is mediocre at best. WPLJ had it right this morning: he is too old and too late for the Boy Band phenomenon. |

Ace reminds me of the band "Color Me Badd" (I wanna sex you up...). He was cute at first and now looks like what he is...a model with an ok voice. Lisa does nothing for me. And I'm not seeing Katherine either, although lots of people like her. Taylor Hicks had an off night, bad song choice. I still like him though because you can the music moves him. |

Ace, Bucky, Kevin, and Elliot were unbelievably bad. Hard to know which one to throw off first. Since only one goes off tonight (I think), my guess is that it is Bucky, because he was clearly the most overmatched by the material and least stroked by the "judges". What is it with the "judges" feeding Kevin's Chicken Run? Even Simon did not have the wherewithall to tell him he was off key the whole song through. It feels like the producers want to keep Kevin around as long as possible to stoke up ratings in the young teen girl and grandma categories. I agree with Greenie that Lisa is winding down, but there are at least a few more rounds for her, I think, given how bad some of the others were. And the producers love cutting to her gorgeous parents, so I bet she stays. Chris is the most creative, Mandisa has the best pipes, Paris the best presence--but that does not matter all the time. |

ESL Elliot may not LOOK like an Idol, however, he has a GREAT voice. Kinda have to close your eyes when he performs. Lisa and Bucky are riding on their last legs. Lisa seems to pick the WRONG songs and like greentree says about "youthful arrogance" is turning-off the voters. Something about her does not "move" me. Chris, Mandisa, Paris are in a league of their own. Elliot, Taylor and Kathleen are next to follow as far as good performances. Bucky? Boy does that name fit him. I'm sure he getting the NASCAR votes! He'll last till next week, unless Lisa goes. I don't think Kelly Pickler is as "clueless" as she seems. She's playing-up the part to win votes. She's a "poor man's" version of Carrie Underwood. Ace is just a good lookin prop. Clearly not the best singer or performer. Guess he got a "wake-up" call last week when he was in the bottom 3. Chris & Mandisa in the finals.

Goodbye Kevin, abandoned by the fickle little girls who are growing up too fast......They have already shifted their allegiance to Ace (who deserved to be one of the bottom three after that last lame-o performance). It is not Elliot's looks that bother me (lord knows, I am not one to talk about looks)--it is that he works the songs too hard rather than singing them beautifully. There is too much styling. I have a similar problem with Taylor except he pulls it off better. Even Katherine and Paris overstyle sometimes, although their voices are more pure than Elliot's or Taylor's. Shat, I can't believe I am not only wasting time watching AI, I am wasting even more time posting about it! My mind is melting......... |
