A guy I've known for 33 years (since HS) has a very ill best beloved. This music (in digital form) would make him very happy--we used to listen to it together way back when. For those that don't know, it's considered the quintessential live Hendrix record (quaint term!) and it has an amazing version of Johnny B. Goode and also one of Sergeant Pepper. It was released a long time ago on cd, out for a short time and there were supposedly also imports but I can't find any cd versions that I trust to be original online. Should you have it, I'd love a copy to make mp3's of and will be happy to buy another Hendrix disc so as not to deprive his estate of any income! Many thanks and be well, all. David |

Have you tried iTunes? Another thought. Call WSOU, the radio station at Seton Hall. Last I heard they were a heavy mental station; but that might have changed. Or call WDHA (I think they are nw in East Hanover). If you explain the situation to them, sometimes you can convince them to make you a copy. |

Dearest DavidBuckley, It's a good news-bad news story. The bad news is that you're right: the CD went out of print a long time ago. I actually have two copies of the album in pristine condition and that's how they're staying. The good news is that you can piece this album together by into the sources below which represent the 5 shows that the album came from: Blue Wild Angel gives you The Queen and Sgt Pepper "Experience" gives you the Royal Albert Hall songs (Little Wing, Voodoo Chile (SR)) CD4 from the Hendrix 4 Cd box set for the Berkeley version of Johnny B. Goode Sbenois for the other Berkeley songs (Lover Man and BlueSuede Shoes) which leaves us with Red House (which I'm still working on as there is some question over whether it came from Sand Diego or the Royal Albert Hall) give me some time. BTW, have you ever heard the live recordings of Hendrix with BB King? Now that's amazing stuff.

Many thanks all...the warmth and loveliness of this community never ceases to give me joy. sbenois: Wow, man, I thought I was a Hendrix fan...I don't have any but the mainstream records, official releases. I remember my grandmother buying me In The West in '73 or so at Doubleday on 5th Avenue! I have not heard the Hendrix/BB stuff--I can imagine them really stepping up to one another. Be well, all. Sbenois, You really should do your civic duty and burn the album (it's just one play!) onto a CD and make copies for all interested parties in M/SO. |

Dearest DavidBuckley, I think your friend is going to be happy. Mission complete. Please send me a private line with your email address. And may I suggest that you go to the link below and purchase the Isle of Fehmarn concert which proved to be Jimi's last - just two weeks before his untimely death. I think it will enrich your Hendrix Experience. http://www.authentichendrix.com/pgi-ContinueList7?Music |

I just looked at one of my Hendrix in the West LPs and was reminded that it's an import from Uruguay of all places. And the record itself appears to be the Isle of Wight show from 1970. Those Polydor people in Uruguay are crazy! I'm listening to Red House right now. No one ever played guitar better than Hendrix. |
