I just got an email from a college friend of mine that she and another girl I went to school with are planning on performing at the open mic tomorrow at Here's to the Arts. They're 2/3 of a rock trio called "Double Breasted" featuring harp, cello, and drums. I don't think the drummer will be there tomorrow night, but it should still be good. Unfortunately I *just* received this email and have prior plans, but may try to stop by later. If you're around check them out.

Thats a funky trio of instruments to fit the "rock trio" bill. I hear Rock Trio and for some reason I picture RUSH. I bet its a cool sound. |

You can check them out at http://www.myspace.com/doublebreasted. I actually helped out a little with the writing (music and lyrics) of "unresolved"... it's first incarnation was just harp and violin. They just recently started playing together after a two year or so hiatus. Just an FYI - I think all the pictures posted on the side are about 3 years old. |

sounds like a great niche for H2TA. But I wish they would change that name. Wish it was just "Arts", or "Art's"

Drew, I agree, Art's would certainly be easier to remember (and say), however using the possessive would lose the flavor of the original meaning of the name which refers to all of the arts (performing, visual, theatrical, etc) and if it were to be named Arts I'd be receiving more calls than I already do regarding the "Art Gallery" and/or museum. So.....I hereby grant all who desire to call HTTA, Art(s or 's) permission to HTTA anything you wish as long as it's in the context of "I'm/we're going to ________". BTW, after listening to "Double Breasted's web site I, too, am really looking forward to hearing this most unique group tonight. Art

that's why "Art's" is perfect. It's much simpler and direct, has a much more local feel, contains the double meaning of 'arts' (if you don't get it, so what), you're only one 'Art' now (not sure why ajc defected just when the biz seemed ready to take off- but that was his choice), identifies directly with the proprietor (there really is an 'Art'!) and would look much better on ads and signage. Just my 2 cents. Best of luck. |

After hearing the fabulous sounds of "Double Breasted" last night, I was fortunate enough to be able to persuade them to appear at "Art's" tonight (along with several other extemely talented performers). You really don't want to miss this uniquely talented musical group. Art |

"not sure why ajc defected just when the biz seemed ready to take off- but that was his choice" Drew, it was my choice! It wasn't that I defected, it was I divested... In business, you need to know when to hold them, and when to fold them. The venture was a pre-planned means to an end. H2TA served the purpose, and our vision and mission was accomplished. The "Art's" all got what we wanted, and long live HTTA... Thanks for your support and Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!
