WOW and WOW-ZA! That Jason guy doesn't look real! Any chance they messed with that one! If not, I'm totally blown away. By both, really. |

Another thing I noticed: The video of Chris Bliss is one continues shot and he never drops a ball, whereas there are lots of different cuts and camera angles on Jason Garfield. He could have dropped those balls at any time, and they just cut to a different shot. So I take it back. I'm more impressed with Bliss. I also enjoyed watching his face! |

I was going to type what Meand wrote (sorry I haven't gotten used to calling you Wendy yet). Chris' footage is clearly one take so it was very well choreographed and practiced. I'm not dissing Jason Garfield who clearly has skills but it's clear that it was done in VERY VERY VERY many takes, from different angles, stopping the shots, redoing certain tricks, etc. So in many ways Chris' was more impressive. |

O.K. I have to watch Bliss again then. I know, I know. It was a spectacular performance. Almost like he was playing an instrument. Was that your point? |

well, I think his point was simply... "this is a must see", that's all. And a "must see" it indeed is. justmelaura had posted it on MOL a while ago though, and I made it a point to forward it to my drummer friends - I think the time-keeping sense of the guy is remarkable and quite interesting for a drummer. Hey Duncan, BTW, I reviewed your video on the website you gave us, but I can't post replies on your thread on MOL, why not? |

Duncan, the issue is NOT the cuts, the issue is that Chris' footage was done on a stage with hundreds of people. PRESUMABLY it was done in one take because presumably it was live. Since it was a televised show and there are multiple cameras on the stage it's OK for their to be multiple angles in Chris' footage. Also, we got your point. The fact that we are talking about/scrutinizing the footage is clear enough (IMO) to show that we get the point. |

I thought it was great. But where the hell is Her Majesty? Which reminds me. If anyone is interested, next weekend (3/31-4/2) is the Beatlefest at the Meadowlands Hilton or whatever it's called these days. It hard to believe that it's 30 years since I went to my first one.

About the Chris Bliss thing?.......Great music. The genius of Bliss is, he doesn't detract or distract from the masterpiece. Sort of like a lava lamp. I practice law with the Beatles on. Anybody want to see a video of that? Nah....didn't think so. |
