I watched this show for the first time the other night, and I have to say that guy is one hilarious mo-fo. I am not sure how he is able to stay in-character throughout the whole episode. It's impressive to be able to be that flavor of sarcastic regarding everything. I don't know if I'm going to be tivo-ing it every night but if nothing else is on, I'm there.

We tivo it and then watch when there's nothing else to watch. He is great. Sometimes I think GOPMan is Colbert.

I'm always impressed with the interviews. He stays in character yet still remains somewhat endearing and interesting... and he's so effing quick! And he has unusual guests.

O.K. when and where is this show. I've been hearing a lot about it and I'd like to check it out. Apparently he is a neighbor--of sorts. He lives in Montclair. I also heard he just signed a big book deal.

Comedy Central. I believe it is right after Jon Stewart's show.

GOP on you, that's funny considering I have always believed you to be Colbert (or one of his writers!!) Hmmm, come to think of it, you're probably a Daily Show writer.

Love Colbert, love the Daily Show. I thought The Daily Show was particularly in the groove this past week. I think Stewart is the better interviewer, because he can be himself, and sometimes Colbert's character gets in the way. I was disappointed in this week's interview w/Al Franken, it felt awkward, because they were both sort of playing characters, so it felt like part interview, part skit.

I'm really bothered by the commercials that get shown during both these shows. Girls gone wild, plus some really explicit, virtually pornographic phone line ads. Saw one the other night that was truly shocking. I like to think of myself as a progressive first amendment kind of guy, but seeing near-porn in the middle of a comedy show? Just seems wrong. Not sure if the ads are just on Cablevision or on other systems as well. Anyone else bothered by these things?

Alley,
I assume you're being facetious, but yes I can write. I'm being mentored by Jonah Goldberg who has told me I remind him of himself.

moving soon,

It's all driven by viewer demographics and it looks like the admen are cashing in big time.

Read that Colbert signed a multi-million dollar book deal.

Apparently, he's having ex-FEMA head Michael "Heckuva Job" Brown on tonight or sometime later this week. That should be interesting
