Why not stopping by at Here's To The Arts tonight for some food and/or drinks AND some nice Jazz playing?
The JazzLAB is having a nice guitar/bass/drums trio tonight starting at 8:00 - the performance will include standarts and jazz tunes, and won't be loud or in your face! So if you so desire, you WILL actually be able to enjoy a conversation with your drink or meal...
Stop by and say hello.

Wish I could make it. Sounds like a good time. Unfortunately I am stranded in the wilds of PA!
The good news is I have my "jungle kit" down here now.

JazzMe, meeting some friends for a "girls night out" at H2TA tonight, because I knew there'd be jazz! So glad we'll be able to squeeze in some much needed "girl talk" and enjoy the music. See you at 8:00.

I stopped by for a little while tonight. The music was great. (And I was only drinking coffee so that is not alcohol talking )

I will be back for more.

JazzMe, thanks for a really enjoyable evening, it was a pleasure to meet you. You were absolutely right about the music being just loud enough. Only problem is, I was so engrossed in conversation most of the night, I wasn't able to give the music my full attention. But we all had a great time, and I was very impressed with your skills on the drums!

Thanks also for thinking of me and my interest in latin jazz. However, by the time you showed me the CD, I had probably had an entire bottle of wine (oh my aching head) and I don't remember the name! "Miami.......something?"

Hey Wendy, thanks for coming, it was very nice meeting you and your friends. Also, thank you so much for the kind words, I really appreciate.
I am very glad you were able to enjoy your conversations with your friends, that's exactly what I'm shooting for: people to be able to enjoy a nice evening with friends or family, or even alone and yet get an opportunity to strike a friendship - if the music is at a reasonable level, patrons can always stop talking for a while and listen to the music, before resuming their conversation. The other way around simply doesn't work (if the music is too aggressive, people have to scream to be able to talk to each other and I hate that).
Oh, and thanks again for indulging us on that one tune where, admitedly, we DO go a bit more "out" and loud.
The CD I played a the breaks is Jam Miami: A Celebration of Latin Jazz. I figured you would enjoy it. Next time you swing by a Wednesday night, I'll have something else ready for you
See you soon.
