I'd go!! Have been to a number of actual concerts, but never a rehearsal concert. So now you have 2 takers. |

Yes, the concerts are in Convention Hall. Amazingly, I have heard they did not sell out this morning, so if you missed the announcement, I think you can still get tix over the phone from Ticketmaster. |

I'm pretty sure these shows are PHONE ONLY. Local Ticketmaster numbers are (201) 507-8900, (609) 520-8383, (212) 307-7171 and 212-307-7200 (automated). |

Thanks MHD, if you hadn't posted that tix were still available, I wouldn't have even tried. But I just got a pair for Apr. 25.

Too bad its in the convention center. The acoustics stink. But I can say that two of my movies have shown in the same room |

I just got two tickets via Ticketmaster - Row M, for the 7 p.m. show on Tuesday, April 25th at Convention Hall. (I don't care if the acoustics aren't perfect - it's SPRINGSTEEN!) My husband can't go. I'm going to try to find someone willing to drive down to Asbury Park with me, but if I can't, private line me if you re interested in attending. Tickets cost me $225, including service charges. |

I went to the show last night & it was alot of fun. It is NOT your typical Springsteen show, as the majority of the songs were from the new album - which are cover songs and which is very folk/country sounding. However, it did open my eyes to new types of music & it was a pretty "rocking" night, even though the music was not traditional Rock. He did play a number of his own stuff, too, but even those songs were "reinterpretations" and sounded quite different. This morning I snagged 2 free tickets for the concert Tuesday morning that will be on Good Morning America, butI have to decide if I want to get up at 5am to be there. |

Thanks, Spitz. The album can be listened to here: http://www.clearchannelmusic.com/cc-common/mfeatures/brucespringsteenOD/ It's very country/folk, but it does grow on you after a while. |

we're going to Tuesday's show. for those who've been to a previous show -- what time would you recommend leaving Maplewood? I'm concerned that the lines at Will Call will be really long. thanks |

ML, For Thursday's show, I arrived exactly at 7pm (after leaving here around 5pm, getting a quick bite to eat & parking). The line at Will Call took about 15 minutes and the show started about 7:25pm. |

My friend's going to tonight's (Monday) show. She got her tickets late Friday. Lookd like another friend has convinced me to go to one of the Garden State Arts Center shows next month. |

Last night's show was as much fun as any Springsteen show I've been to. The songs are great -- I didn't realize how many of them are instantly familiar. These great old songs are part of our history and part of our collective memory. The band is outstanding, and to a degree I felt like they were in awe of the entire spectacle themselves. None of them (outside of Bruce, Patti, Soozie Tyrell, and LaBamba) are probably used to a rock & roll audience, and they seemed to be in heaven having people react so enthusiastically to their playing. It's not "folk music" like you might expect. The songs are indeed old folk songs -- some of them over a hundred years old -- but they're not played that way. It's a mixture of country, bluegrass, New Orleans jazz, zydeco, swing and rock & roll. It was just a blast. The funny thing was that the tickets for the show were really easy to get. I don't think the show was sold out (it appeared that there were a few dozen empty seats). If you want tickets for the shows at MSG or PNC Bank, I expect they'll be harder to get after the word of mouth from the rehearsal shows gets out. If you're a Springsteen fan, you should definitely get yourself out to one of these shows. |

ML, Great review. I also was pleasantly surprised & went in with very low expectations, but wound up really enjoying it. So much so, that I got up at 4am on Tuesday to go to Asbury Park the mini-concert for Good Morning America. They butchered the TV coverage, but in person it was fantastic and Bruce was hysterical between songs. Tickets for the PNC Arts Center go on sale on 5/6 at 9am. |

I recall reading an article in which someone who used to go to Bruce's shows in the early '70s (I think he was a record exec) said the thing he was always struck by was how funny Bruce was on stage. The songs were great, and the band was great, and they played with passion, but Bruce used to just crack him up. That seemed to be something that Springsteen lost in the late 70s as he started to become really big. It was good to see him return to that more in these shows -- not just telling rambling stories, but actually interacting and conversing with people in the audience. To some extent, he's talked about trying to shed his too-nice image (which was not accurate anyway). He and Patty actually shared a drink onstage, which he never would have done in the past. (By the way, anyone know what they were drinking? It was something clear. Vodka? Sambucca? Ouzo? Slivovitz?) He smiled more in one night than he probably has on entire tours over the past few years. It was great fun. |

JTA, Yes...I'm afraid so. Currently, the rumor is that lawn seats (which are usually cheaper) will not be sold at all. Although, yesterday I heard that lawn seats will be the same price at "regular" seats. Personally, I don't think either story sounds right and more accurate information should be coming out shortly. |

I know I'm going to regret this. Who wants tickets for Bruce's GSAC shows? I think I can get four for each night. Most likely center row 27. Not sure how much, but they would be less then the $95. The 'catch' I have to be there or my tickets are invalid. I also can't get them until the night of the concert when I pick them up from the box office. Another thing those who go split the cost of my ticket. One of my friends already wants to go. I'm waiting for a phone call back to find out how many tickets I can get and for how much. First to post get first dibs. Money up front. |
