LITTLE CHARLIE & THE NIGHTCATS

Little Charlie & the Nightcats take their fun very seriously. Their powerful mix of searing blues styles and offbeat humor is driven home by Little Charlie Baty’s slashing yet melodic guitar, Rick Estrin’s winning original songs, wiseguy vocals and diabolical harmonica wizardry, and their rock solid rhythm section.

“Guitarist Charles Baty plays with rare intelligence and taste while Rick Estrin sings and writes songs like the brightest wiseguy in all bluesland and blows harmonica as if he learned at the knee of Little Walter.” --Downbeat

“Romping, fresh-brewed, good-humored blues, marvelously entertaining and brilliantly played.”
–San Francisco Examiner

“This California band rocks the house…sharp-swinging and witty.” –Playboy Magazine

“Little Charlie & The Nighcats have a way with the blues like no other band. Rollicking, super-cool, jazzy and hip … satirical, sharp lyrics and killer guitar and harp solos. It just doesn’t get any better than this.” – Blues Review

NORA JEAN BRUSO

Born in the Mississippi Delta area, the land that produced Son House, Willie Brown, and Robert Johnson, Nora Jean Bruso grew up in a family that embraced church music, but at the same time ran a juke join where legends like her hero Howlin’ Wolf appeared. She later moved to Chicago, following in the footsteps of so many others who gave the world the blues, where she quickly came to the attention of established artists such as Koko Taylor, Jimmy Dawkins, Eddie Shaw and Willie Kent.

“After one song, you’ll realize this is the real deal blues. Bruso is a vocalist who has the drama inside of her and allows it to come out in each word she sings.” – Blues Revue

“… a worthy heiress apparent to Koko Taylor…” – Living Blues
