I thought the stuff with Meadow was interesting - her disdain for government, her sympathy for Johnny Sacs, her interest in the white collar crimes - maybe she is heading into the family business. Poor Vito - he may have found an idyllic spot where could live happily every after but I think his days may be numbered. |

I think the hunky lawyer was effectively warned off Meadow by the female lawyer - "Tony Soprano's daughter." End of story. I agree with Eliz. Meadow seemed to be reaching for ways to see white collar crime as worse than the family business (and I guess that in some cases - like Enron - I'd agree that the damage is greater.) On the one hand she's criticizing her mom for voting for Bush, but on the other, she's making excuses for the thugs in her life. |

BTW, as far as Vito was concerned, that pretty Arts and Crafts vase he was man-handling (I was waiting for him to drop it) was a "pot." A clear illustration of how clueless he really is--and what a "come on" that was on the part of the guy who was working in the store! |

Actually I thought his use of "pot" was surprisingly correct. It's very appropriate when describing pottery. |

Yeah but I couldn't stand the way the store owner was almost hitting on Vito. I can't imagine someone that attractive hitting on someone like Vito unless there are no other options around. And it seemed pretty clear from the diner scene that wasn't the case. |

Okay, I'm all caught up. (TIVO) Meadow and her fiance talking: Fiance: "They're going to mete it out themselves." Meadow: "This is untenable." College kid vocabulary. It was perfect. To contrast, discussing the "Al Quedas, or something like that," (Tony) Christophah: "...he and his girlfriend have a dog, a springer spaniel." Each scene awesome for it's writing. The dialogue is a parody of each. I'll keep watching. J.B.

The dialogue was superb. I have never heard as many terms for homosexual sex as I did last night. The whole show was like a series of brilliant one-liners. |

I'm just really enjoying that one by one, we're seeing each character's true self, and the events in their lives that final expose their "weakness". Looks like next week's episode might focus a Christopher a bit more. |

I like any scene with Christopher in it. I love his character and the growth since he became a captain last year. He is the man to replace Tony in the future. Is it not important to keep it in the family? |

So let me ask, who here thinks Tony "got a pass" while he was in the slammer? Sure, he was only in for a short period of time, but a man's got needs. Not to mention he got so defensive. my 2 cents: The episode was good. Vito being gay is a fun subplot. It's a shame that every scene I keep thinking, wow maybe Vito will make it through this (which is good writing in itself) but only to remember that no one is allowed to escape the business (just remember the first episode of this season). Poor Vito, I mourn you already. Now the only question is How will they find him and how will he go? |

What about Finn? You think they'll let him break up with Meadow and head off into the sunset? Or is that the sound of knees breaking I hear? I think vito should be allowed to go into business with the hunky antique store guy, live a healthy, happy gay life, and have his kids up with him for summers. |

I'm caught up now too, and I'm mad. Why is Chase making me aware of Vito's humanity now, NOW, when he's about to get whacked? Why can't he STFU about it at this point? No, no. In that New England town, outside of his mafia life, outside of his straight life, Vito shows us another side. He gradually lets his defenses down, takes off his mask. (Mistake!!!) Remember that shot of the New Hampshire license plate, "Live free or die"? For Vito, it's "live free: tomorrow you die." I don't think he was flirting with that antiques store guy. He's all eyes for that ceramic pot. No browsing necessary. Vito knows the beautiful one right away. He picks it up and holds it in his hands. Could things have gone another way? I would say that there's something really Italian about that moment, except then the non-Italian antiques store guy approaches, and the antiques store guy can see the pot's beauty too. Vito and the antiques store guy see the pot together. It's a Chase stealth intimacy attack, just when we all know perfectly well Vito's about to get whacked. I'm mad about it, and I'm staying mad about it until Sunday.

Why does everyone "assume" Vito will get WHACKED soon? He was Tony's biggest money maker in construction. Tony even suggested therapy to help the guy. I think Vito's character will develop further into the show. If he goes, its of his OWN doing. Anyways, I'm looking forward on this character development!

Phil's going to do Vito (remember Vito is married to Phil's cousin or neice). Vito has dishonored her. The question is, will Phil get permission from John? Will Tony turn the other cheek because this settles the score for the Cousin Tony's hit on Phil's brother last season? |

I thought the most hilarious parts this season were (i) Tony to the born again minister guy, who said dinosaurs and men walked the earth at the same time -- "You mean like the Flintstones?", then (ii) Vito dancing in his Village People costume. The boy just wants to have fun! |

I am wondering about all of the hanging endings and whether or not they will ever be resolved .. perhaps in the final 8 episodes, everything will come together. Outstanding items: 1) The sudden disappearence of Furio .. will he return to claim Carmella? 2) The Russian soldier who escaped in the Pine Barrens 3) Vito 4) Dr. Melfi's rapist ... will she ever confess to Tony and will she send Tony after him? 5) The returns of Gloria (the Mercedes saleswoman) and the Russian gooma (There are probably a lot of other hanging storylines that I am forgetting) |

Did she? I don't think so. Last I remember, Tony left her house after choking her. She was begging him to kill her, but I don't think that she took her own life.

WTF?!?!??!? I don't tune in to watch the Artie Bucco show! Christafa's reference to to "Law & Order: SUV" was great! I always think SUV when I see the title so it actually sounded correct to me at first. |

That's the second time that kid got as butt kicked. Was he on Doogie Howser MD? I thought it was a weird episode. Artie. What a time bomb. It was nice to see David Chase make a Hitchcock cameo at the end. Where do you think they shot the scene with the Mayor of Munchkin Land? Queens? |

Yep - Vinny. I loved the episode. It set up so many potential story lines. It also shows how everything is coming apart. People are weak and unfocused. Christafuh was hysterical; the Ben Kingsley scenes, him mugging Lauren Bacall. Twisted genius! |

Tony was sometimes a shrink, sometimes a coach, and sometimes a boss in this episode. The way he dealt with Artie, not reacting to all the zingers (shrink). Encouraging Artie to do what he had to to keep the place open (coach). He's kind of a shrink with the doogie guy that Artie beat up. He lets the kid vent. But then he's a boss when, during good bye hug, he backs the kid off ("I'm going to tell you this once.") Maybe I can pick up some parenting tips from this show. On the other hand, consider A.J. |

Underlings frequently do stupid things on the show, because....they're stupid! RIP Brendan Fallone, Matt Bevilaqua, Sean Gismonte and others I'm not recalling right now. I loved the episide. I love the last scene with Artie (with Tony's coaching) rediscovering his love of cooking, lovingly paging through his handwritten notebook to cook for the latecomers (the rabbit he shot in the garden). Remember Tony saying, "Don't let the Mexicans do all the cooking for you". Question, were the Napolitani on the plane looking through stuff they bought, or was it part of the swag Chris took from Bacall? It seems like Artie and Charmaine (gotta love the name) are a loving couple again. Glad to see it? Locations: Where is "Da Giovanni"? It wasn't "Il Tulipano", was it? |

I liked it alot. Artie is a nudge, but he's been one of Tony's consistent ties to his better self (small as that part is). And Artie is the whining, complaining poor-me friend that we all have and never let go of- we love them even though they drive us nuts. Christafuh punching out Lauren Bacall was worth the price of admission all by itself- and she was a sport to play along (Jesus, my f**king arm!). I agree with the Ledger write-up that Artie may finally be seeing the light and Christafuh is the one spiraling out of control. And I also think Tony has slipped a bit if he's gonna let Benny Fazio steal from and then threaten to kill his closest friend. If Tony is still Tony, that burned hand should be enough to earn Benny a beat-down. My guess is that Chase is winding Tony up for a major blow-up to reassert himself to all. Preceded of course by a dream filled with dead characters... |

I had to turn the channel every time it went to Christafuh in Hollywood. It was just too painful for me to watch. The clueless, ignorant, bumbling, coarse Christafuh with his horrific screenplay, actually believing he could get an actor of the caliber of "Sir" Kingsly, and then trying to cozy up to him, was just more than I could bear. |
