Dear Friends of Harmonium and Choral Music, This Saturday, May 6 the Colonial Symphony will be joined by the 80 voices of Harmonium Choral Society for an exciting program at the Community Theatre in Morristown. The mighty Mozart Requiem will be performed in the new completion by Robert Levin. Mozart died before finishing this great Requiem – and even in the familiar version completed by one of his students, it is moving. Now hear it completed by musicologist Robert Levin, who went back to Mozart's notes to create a finished version that is truly magnificent. This will be a concert full of riches: The fabulous Colonial Symphony led by Music Director Paul Hostetter plus the superb Harmonium Choral Society, led by Artistic Director Anne Matlack, and four outstanding soloists for the Requiem – soprano Elizabeth Farnum, mezzo soprano Hai-Ting Chinn, tenor Stephen Oosting, and bass Matt Boehler. And in addition, the program opens with Mahler's Ruckert Lieder – a series of five beloved songs -- sung by baritone Bruce Rameker. Don't miss it! The concert begins at 8 p.m., but you will enjoy the pre-concert talk at 7 P.M., "Music As Therapy," led by Maestro Hostetter with music therapist Joke Bradt. Call the Box Office, 973-539-8008, for tickets. ($45, $35,$25, HS and College students $5, K-8 free with paid adult).
