May 7- July 16, 2006
Opening Reception: Sunday, May 7, 3-5pm
The Pierro’s 2006 blockbuster exhibition, Headlines, with curator Mary Birmingham, features the work of seventeen artists referencing current events, politics and/or world affairs. Much of the work examines the mediation of ideas, with the artist as the ultimate information “filter.” A range of mediums includes painting, photography, digital imagery, video and installations as well as an outdoor installation near Flood’s Hill. A color catalogue is available. Next month, additional events enhancing this exhibition are scheduled: June 9th, panel discussion: Art That Makes Headlines; June 11th, outdoor N.E.W.S. Day in the park with hands-on projects for the family; June 16th, Art performance by Tim Miller, adult audiences, admission $10. For more information click here www.thebaird.org.
