NOW, regarding my looking for a guitar player

While I have someone to play with us this Friday, I'm looking for someone who can join us for future gigs....

Looking for committed and well versed guitarist who can sing really strong background vocals to play in an established original music group. The music is basically soulful melodic pop/rock with funky, jazzy overtones. I've gotten comparisons to Steely Dan, Maroon 5, Elton John, Billy Joel among others. You should have an ability to hear what's needed for the tune in addition to being able to rip a really burnin' solo and be familliar with jazz/pop/rock idioms. If you play other instruments as well, that is a big plus, but not necessary, but being able to sing strong background harmonies is important.

To make a band work and eventually become really sucessful, it takes more than talent though, and ideally, I would like to find someone who can contribute not only in musical ways, but also who has the energy and drive to put into pushing the band forward in whatever ways it takes to succeed (rehearsing/promoting/getting people down to the gigs etc).

Hope to hear from you
