Happy Mom's Day and thanks for the loan of the WW episode. (It was great meeting you.) I would love to commiserate with fellow grieving West-Wingers but my Mom will be visiting (from Fla.)so I will be watching at home.

Well I'll think about it. Can you get HIM to promise that any applauding will be virtual? Otherwise, I just don't think he's OUR type of guest for this occasion, if you know what I mean. But yeah, I'll be there. If WE can't keep him in line, then we should be ashamed of ourselves. Besides, HE probably won't show and is just looking for OUR reaction. And thanks for the nice compliment. I wasn't really fishing you know.  |

Nancy - I'd love to come, but my little ones better be tucked in bed by the time the finale starts. We can discuss on Tuesday. I am slightly sad that they will not be doing a retrospective, just airing the first episode prior to the finale |

Well it happened; it's over. We didn't quite go through a box of tissues at Nancy's house but the sadness was palpable. Also palpable was the amazing hospitality of Nancy, her husband and her daughter. I was the only guest since the other committed fans couldn't make it. Thanks Librarylady family. If I had to watch the end of one of my favorite shows, I couldn't have picked a better venue. Long live Jeb! (and CJ, and Josh, and Toby, and and and and and even Leo though he doesn't really live anymore but will forever in syndication). |

You're right. My very bad. I thought it was from the initials from his full name and it's not. This is where Jed comes from:
"How did Josiah Edward Bartlet get the nickname "Jed"?:
Jed is from the first letter of the first name and the first two letters of his middle name."

We enjoyed it, although to be honest, there wasn't a whole lot of plot. Instead, it was just a series of wistful last looks at office spaces, Old Staff offering generic advice to New Staff, The Inauguration. They even worked in one more musical guest this season (Keb Mo).
And Toby got pardoned, but who didn't see that coming?
It's a shame the series ended, as it seemed like it could have enjoyed a revival with the cast turnover. During a briefing, Sam comments that Santos "looked good" standing behind the desk making decisions. We agreed, and wished we could see what direction the show might have taken next. |

Wendy, Thank YOU for coming over and adding your insights (and refreshments!). We loved having you here. I was only dissapointed that the final scene didn't fade out with the WW theme being played. That small snippet of music is very, very potent.
Oh well, I just went to my PC and played the wav. B ut it wasn't quite the same. |
