KCRW's Martini Shot - (5 minutes that can keep you laughing for an hour) KCRW's Good Food - I absolutely love this show. It makes me wish I lived in California while I listen to it. Adam Curry's Daily Source Code - from veejay to podcast pioneer Benjamin Walker's Theory of Everything - at times strange and brilliant Cinecast - more fun than going to the movies sometimes The Nashville Nobody Knows - Some great music, listen to the Malcolm Holcombe episode and you'll be blown away. Skepticality - skeptical observers Hometown Tales - good fun The Restaurant Guys - Coupla restaurant guys from NJ Tokyo Calling - Japan's first podcast, oddly fascinating (Other NPR stuff...Frank Deford, Science Friday...)

I'll give my Podcast list, then I have a question for anyone in the know. Acoustic Long Island Coverville Irish and Celtic Music Roots Rock Radio Show (killer) The Dead Show on KOPN OK- How do I get the Podcasts OFF my device and pick and choose which ones I want on it. I have not had my iPod for long and am still in 'discovery mode'. First I want to get the Podcasts off, then I want to cherry pick which ones I put on. Also, how much space do these friggin things take up? Is there a way to see the size of them before you put it on your iPod? I have the Nano, and need to know if I have to take more songs off to fit Podcasts, but never know how much to take off. Thanks and enjoy my Podcast picks. PS - I don't know how anyone can listen to talk shows on an iPod, I can barely listen on regular radio. Just one man's opine.... |

I've switched from reading to listening almost exclusively to podcasts on the commute, so I have a ton of them... This Week In Science - An irreverent look at the Science news from the previous week. CNET's Buzz Out Loud - Mentioned above CNET's News.com - Daily Tech News headlines KQED's Forum - One half interview, second half phone in talk show from CA Mandarin Chinese with Serge Melnyk - I've been falling behind with this intro to the Mandarin language, but it's very good Newsdesk - From Guardian Unlimited Podcasting For Dummies - Way behind on this one, too. I don't have a podcast, but would love to try it out one day, and thought it would be fun to learn. The Signal - A Podcast for fans of Joss Whedon's Firefly series and Serenity movie The Survival Guide To Writing Fantasy - From the guy that does Podcasting For Dummies. I don't write anymore, either, but it's fun to listen to those who do. Top Of The Pods - Listeners provide these English guys with a Top Ten list, and they talk about it. Very funny, actually. AST Radio - Comedy talk from ASpecialThing.com, usually interviewing a different comedian on each show Never Not Funny - Jimmy Pardo and friends sit around and chat for 40 or so minutes, kinda similar to the Ricky Gervais Show, but free. Weezy And The Swish - Interviews and general chat about life and stuff from Louise Palanker and Laura Swisher. The Sound Of Young America - Jesse Thorne talks to comedians, writers, musicians, etc., fairly informal but usually entertaining. Podcasting is now my TV. |

Jay, if you don't like talk shows, try listening to Brian Lehrer. He raises the bar considerably. If you don't like his shows, then you may never like talk shows.

Am I the only one who LOVES Democracy Now? The War and Peace Report with Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzales. Phenomenal Stuff. If nothing else, the first 10 minutes of the show is A MUST LISTEN, where Amy reads through all of the days news -- most of which you won't hear ANY WHERE ELSE. If you are a lefty or just hate George Bush or the War, this is definitely the show to listen to, IMO. |

Jay, in itunes, there is a column for size of each track. Maybe you have to enable the display of that column. On the left of the display, there is an icon for your ipod. Click on that. Then you can scroll through the various things on the ipod. You can click on the stuff you don't want and then hit the delete key. That's how you delete stuff from your ipod. podcasts are usually not as bulky, per minute, as Apple-encoded music. They are of lower quality, because that's OK for podcasts. It takes a lot of podcasts to fill up your ipod. Then again, I'm careless, because I have a 40GB ipod.

Phone your podcast ideas into MOLAudible (206) 350-7541 (It's a Seattle exchange, so callers without unlimited US calling will be billed long distance charges) Record a message about what an MOL podcast could be like and we'll find a way to weave them together for all to hear. You can identify yourself or not. |
