I found last nights final episode to be a bit flat. I was hoping for so much more, but it just didn't deliver. Anyone else? |

I thought it was a dud, but Mrs. Weir and I agree that the stories have been crummy for several years- it's the great lines that make the show. Definitely time for W & G to close shop...although I will miss Beverly Leslie! |

Very flat. I was totally expecting it to go out with a bang. I am sure they could have gone out on a high note if they wanted to, but this seemed rushed and "thrown together" I can't think of many (any??) series finales that have been really good. |

Also the Bob Newhart.... can't remember the name, but when he turns over and the entire series was a dream? Okay, I missed it last night, so how did it end? |

The "Seinfeld" finale was the worse that I can remember. |

My award for Best Series Finale goes to Six Feet Under. It must be hard to end a sit-com in a meaningful way, since we're used to 30 minute segments of things that are funny but not usually meaningful.

"Newhart" was a great ending! Seinfeld was awful. M*A*S*H was overlong and sappy, much like the show itself at the end. It's funny, but series finales are a relatively new concept in TV history- shows didn't end by design for many years, they just kept running until they were canceled. "The Fugitive" was the first I can remember ending conclusively, with a two-part finale. |

Oh, LilLB! You are so RIGHT! What an amazing series finale "Six Feet" was! I was in tears and couldn't watch the repeats for days because I knew I'd be so torn up inside. Let's hope "The Sopranos" leaves us breathless as well. |

"Everybody Loves Raymond" and "Cheers" were disappointing finales also. |

I agree about "Newhart". Having him wake up next to Suzanne Pleshette was hyserical. |

So what DID happen in the "Will and Grace" finale? I never really watched the show, but I am curious. Speaking of finales, today's NYT has a story about how lame series and season finales tend to be. Last night's season finale of "OC" was totally lame. But on Monday...."24"! |
