My wife and I have been to Rascals in Montclair once but didn't like it as much as The Stress Factory in New Brunswick which we've been to about three times. Rascals is closer but Stress Factory seems to get better acts. That said, we have gone to Stress Factory to see specific comics while we went to Rascals because there was nothng else to do that night. There are plenty of restaurants near both to make a whole night of it. |

We just went to Stress Factory this past weekend. They do have some great acts and there are great restaurants within walking distance. Check out their website at www.stressfactory.com and see their upcoming comics. |

Rascals used to be in West Orange and you could see it on TV quite often (brick wall in background). It was closed and reopened in Montclair on Bloomfield Ave (as mentioned above).

Hi all, Bev Sheehan here, artistic director of the What Exit? Theatre Company in Maplewood. I don't know if you've come to our shows but we do nothing but comedy. This coming Friday, June 9th, we're doing what we call our annual EZLaffs Comedy night. It's a benefit to jump start our season. Tickets are $75 and that includes great wine, Whatjitos (try them, you'll love them) and heavy appetizers, which for me is another way of saying "dinner". We have a silent auction, and a raffle, and door prizes, and the main thing of the night, our comedy show. It's really really funny with sketches and songs by Broadway performers. You'd easily spend as much at a comedy club with the cover and the drink minimum and then dinner and in this case your expense is tax deductible. It's at the Maplewood Woman's club. If anyone's interested call 973 763 4029 for reservations. Trust me. It's a great evening.
