Well, I thought it was wonderful. Norbert Leo Butz and Christine Ebersole showed their SO/M spirit, with Christine having one of the best lines of the nite (Republican puppet? Now that sounds familar).

I loved, loved, loved Drowsy Chaperone. Saw it in previews and just knew it was gonna be a big smash. Good thing I saw it when I did, cause it's going to be impossible to get tixs to now.

Looked like you had to have "boys" in the title though to win the big prize. Haven't seen Hiistory or Jersy Boys yet, but I'm putting them on my list.

Yay for Broadway!!!

Also, Maplewood's Mark Jacoby, currently in Sweeney Todd, could be seen performing during that show's performance.

One of Maplewood's own was nominated for her role in the Pajama Game. Lost alas, but a fine show and performance.

I haven't seen Jersey Boys yet, but a few weeks ago, Daniel Reichard (Jersey Boys' Bob Gaudio) held a concert for The Arts Council of Keansburg. He was wonderful, accompanied by Bryan Perri from the tour of "Wicked" on keyboard.
It was a fun evening, the Arts Council's first event, with lots more planned.

I have been screaming on the board about how wonderful Pajama Game is. I saw it and loved it immediately, and if you look carefully, you'll see my comment on the message board when it won a Tony. It was marvelous. I am impressed that the leading lady lives in your town. She was extraordinary.

The gal who scored my second film is the musical director and conductor of Jersey Boys. She also plays piano in the on stage band.

Cool night. But I understand how it just dies in the TV ratings. The general public is much more interested in celebrity than they are in talent.

The couple I bought my house from were veteran broadway performers (chorus members). Their last show together was Phantom, I think.

Amen Duncan - ain't it the truth. The Tonys the other night tried to pander to that, though... talking about how many celebrities would be there, 60, instead of one host.

Sometimes, celebrity and talent have something to do with each other.

I wonder if that is a kind of "ain't that how it used to be?" things, or if, during the course of time, there has always been celebrity that was unfounded. Hm...
