Ok, so this town is loaded with talented people. Who knows some of the M/So celebrities. I would love to entice them into doing the MOL film. Then it could be truly an MOL movie, especially if either Notehead or ComposerJohn were to score it. So come on people..Let me know who lives here and how to get in touch with them. Their agents will say no, so it is best to approach them personally. It's how I got Elizabeth Franz and Dan Lauria. |

Not that I'm famous or anything, but I'd be happy to score the film. Maybe Notehead and I can work on it together - a MOL music collaboration. I'm going to LA in the fall for 6 weeks, but otherwise I'm generally available. |

Kelly Bishop is in South Orange, veteran of Chorus Line, Dirty Dancing and Gilmore Girls, to say the least. |

Christine Ebersole is mentioned in this week's Entertainment Weekly Must List issue. She's on the Must List for stage performers and in the little profile it mentions tht she lives in Maplewood. |

Yea, Last I knew John D. was still in town. Ran into him at one of the PIM meetings and I see Andre with some regularity. I know this kind of thread has been posted before, but I am asking for access, someone to PL me an email for phone number so I can see about them participating in the film. While I am generally not too cognizent of fame or its definitions others are and I was hoping that some one out there, regular, new comer, or lurker might know how I could reach these folks personally. As I said, sending an agent a short film script is like throwing a hundred dollar bill in the fire place. A waste of time and money. Elizabeth Franz did THE READER because I asked her to, and because she liked the script. Same with Dan Lauira and BUST. SO I am just looking for a "name" who would be willing to do this film so it might reach a broader audience. Thats all. So PL if you have any info and/or help!! |

If you give me $100 bucks I'll bring you to Christine Ebersole's door. Just kidding. I know her, our girls are friends, but I do think she's busy these days. |

Pippi - you took the words right out of my mouth!!!! But, Duncan - PS - I got RAVE reviews for playing Mary Magdaline (sp?) in the school play back in the 70s. So, if you need an experienced actress, you can feel free to call on me. |

you guys crack me up. I have actually be given a great deal of assistance on this front from someone I don't know who is PL'ing me. I know Christine Ebersole, periforally, and she isn't right for this project. I am trying to cast three roles. Depending on who is available and how it shakes out it could be 2 men and 1 woman, 3 men or 3 women or 2 woman and 1 man. I am, however, trying to avoid the taint of sexism that might be misconstrued if I make the sneaky copying after the other employee goes home a woman. |

Why is it sexist if it's the truth???? I think it's more sexist to change it because you think it might be construed as sexist! (does that make sense?) |

To you and me it makes sense. To programmers it doesn't. I am not making a documentary. It is a narrative film. And as such programmers will assume I made the choice for the character to be female. So, in the ever increasing competition for shorts to get into festivals one has to find a way to balance the story and its aesthetic with the unfortunate realitites of trying to get a short film into a festival. Thats all I am saying. |

Hmmmm....I kind of like the idea of the sneaky copier being a man. I don't know why, but it just seems a bit more laughable. Less "vindictive" and more "clawing at anything he can to save himself/pathetic" element to it. It's a character you can laugh at, even though what he's doing is despicable. Kind of like "Michael" in "The Office." If that character were "Michelle", it wouldn't be half as funny.

Or a dunk tank, no? That would add some flava to the film. Actually Monster that sounds like a pitch for a beer commercial. You have a bunch of 20 somethings working at crap jobs. And when they get the memo, or finish the shipping order or what have you they ball it up and throw it over their shoulder. Cut to a big dunk tank near each one of these guys, have some babe sitting up there and when the crumpled up memo or freight bill or whatever hits the target...SPLASH and up comes the babe with a beer for the guy. "Budweiser....always hits the spot" you would be surprised at how easy a pitch that might be.... hmmmmmmmm |
