A film I scored - "They Say It's Wonderful" - is going to be shown at the Long Island International Film Expo on Saturday, July 15 at 4:30pm. It should be an interesting day.

Here's a link to the full schedule: http://www.longislandfilm.com/schedule.htm

Please come if you can. If anyone wants to ride with me, I should have room for 2 or 3 people.

Weird.

I just noticed that another film I scored - "To Kill A Bore" - is going to be shown the same day, but at midnight. That's a really strange coincidence.

Hey, John!

So you are actually a working composer? That's so impressive!

Any chance the films will be shown closer to home at some point? Will you be able to get dvd's for a local viewing/listening?

Las I can actually sort of answer that question for him. If the film used SAG actors technically he can have copies of the DVD for his reel but the local viewing would have to be at someone's house. Or not charge admission.

A lot would have to do with when the film, if SAG, went signatory. Pre 7/05 a public screening depending on the circumstances would kick in the deferrments for the talent. Post 7/05 and no biggie.

But I suggest that ComposerJohn hold off until he can screen the films he has scored and I can screen the films I have directed and then end the night with the film I directed and he scored...THE MOL MOVIE..

John, that is cool when that happens. There was a weekend in May when I had THE READER in Hawaii showing on the same day as BUST was screening in NJ.

And another one of those last summer when THE READER screened at Woods Hole the same day that it screened in Chicago. While it may be a strange coincidence, pounce on the PR possibilities for yourself. Send an email to all the contacts you have in the biz and tell them that you have two films you scored in the same festival the same day. Push Push Push. It is painful work, but it will get your name out there more and associated with success, especially a double whammy at a pretty high profile fest!

Congrats!!!
