Hey, I just got back from seeing it. Brilliant and well worth the money. But I will caution it won't be everyone's cup of tea. Pretty offensive stuff. |

Watched the first one again before going to see #2. The script for #1 was much better (Thirty-SEVEN?!?) -- even though the acting wasn't so great. #2 could've used some serious editing. That said, I love, love, LOVE Jay and Silent Bob. Not nearly enough of them.....way too much Dante. I'd wait a few months & add it to your Netflix queue or rent it. |

Totally offensive and very funny. Even funnier was watching Monster try to play the song Jay was dancing to on the jukebox at Bunny's, guessing wrongly, and playing a few really embarrassing songs in a row. |

They weren't embarrassing, they just sucked, the movie could be funnier though....;-) |

I wasn't expecting it to resemble the first movie much as everyone involved has been through a lot since that movie came out and launched Smith into the spotlight and created a devoted fanbase for him & his characters. That said, I still liked Clerks 2 a lot. Without giving anything away, one thing it did share with the first one was the type of funny lines where you'd start remembering them the next day at work and actually start to laugh again, which depending on who is in your general vicinity can lead to some odd looks! I was worried at first about how the new characters would fit in but they worked just fine. Elias was played perfectly. I also thought there was just enough Jay & Silent Bob. IMHO, they work a lot better as contributing characters than lead ones.

I did laugh almost continuously throughout the movie, and I am thinking of going to see it again. I've never gone to see a movie more than once at the theater. |

Aside from a pretty gnarly scene that I had to close my eyes for and my friend actually retched during, it was funny. Loved Elias. Dont remember all that much about the original clerks other than it was kinda slow. Dante can't act to save his @#!% life! he got better as the movie went on, or I just got used to it, but was he that bad in the original? It's too bad that the NJ they show, places and people, seem to be the worst the state has to offer. I am a transplant from So cal, and I love it here! It's the most beautiful place I've ever lived and the only time those places are shown on TV or film, it's not mentioned as being NJ, so everyone probably assumes it's some East Coast place with a better rep!!! |
