Ok Folks...

Here is a link to the script. Those inclined to read it may, those not so inclined don't have to.

I welcome all notes and thoughts. I am still tweaking it even now. But some who have read it have responded really well, while others tepidly. So I want to fix it as best I can.

Reads well....will there be office background sounds, e.g. phone's ringing, conversations, elevators ringing etc ?

(swinging,clicking balls = Newton's cradle)

PS how did it go with the prospective DP ?

Well Lazy... A lot depends on my ability to get a location. Mem had kindly offered up her office but it turns out that she will most likely be leaving that job and moving so I don't have access to that location anymore and that sort of creates a large shift in priorities. I have to find a "cube farm" kind of place that has, nearby, a boss's office, and a copy room.

Something like this but it doesn't even have to be this big. One of the wonders of film, is the ability to frame things differently and make it seem bigger or smaller as needed. Wide lenses tend to stretch stuff out and you can do all kinds of things to make a small space seem much bigger.

So, if you know of anyone with access to this sort of space, I am in pretty good need at this point. If I can't get this locked down this week it will basically stop the movie from going forward until I can find a location or raise another couple thousand dollars to rent one.

Seems silly for a 5-6 minute short film, but as you know, I don't make these things on the cheap.

A damn good idea as well. I am hoping that someone can put me in touch with a real person. I have found that if I can approach someone and say that Jersey Boy said I should speak to you about.... then I get farther than if I call cold.

No - Not moving - just not sure if I will be in the same job, I'll hear this week or nest, and I would hate to have leave Duncan hanging...

Duncan, if I am still at my job and you haven't found anything we can still use my site, my situation is not the most reliable right now...

mem...that is very kind of you, but this is something, for insurance reasons, that has to be locked down as soon as possible. So while I genuinely appreciate the offer, I cannot adopt a wait and see attitude. There are the aforementioned insurance issues, transportation for crew issues, lighting specific to the location issues, plus some I am not thinking of at the moment.

So, don't sweat it, it sounds like this just wouldn't be a good time to take over your space whether you are there or not. Something, somewhere will turn up. There are many on MOL who have made suggestions, and are looking...I think.

Plus my whole mailing list has been notified and I posted on INdiefilmpage.com as well. Craigs list is next and I feel confident. But if I have to, I will rent something in NYC, just not that 7,000 dollars a day deal i learned about this morning. Nearly spat my coffee out of my mouth.

tiki bar is a callin...
