There is way too much going on this summer for there not to be a thread: Big Brother all stars, Super Nova, America's Got Talent, So You Think You Can Dance, Project Runway, The One, and I'm sure there are others. I am having a hard time coordinating what to watch, what to tape, and what to forget about. I find myself searching to see if something will be rerun so that I can watch and tape the two others that are on at the same time. This is pathetic! So let's start with SuperNova: Sayda, if that is how you spell her name, has got to go. |

I fully expect that "America's Top Reality Show Fan" will be on the schedule in a year or two. Maybe I should copyright that? |

About the only show worth watching right now, reality or not, is Big Brother. And even tat stinks because we really don't like anyone but George. We don't like the way Season Six is taking control. I think once the four from Season Six are the only ones left, a lot of people will stop watching. Maybe the way the Power of Veto is used needs to change. Whoever has the Power of Veto should be able to put someone on the 'block.' That is the ONLY way (or so it seems) a Season Six Player will be put up and there won't be enough votes to keep them. What's with Will? He is plain psycho! I can't believe he's a doctor. |

I like reality shows, but every one of the shows Deacon mentioned are downright awful. Julie Chen. the host of Big Brother should be shot and removed from any CBS News projects. I can't even look at her on the commercials for the program, much less on the CBS Morning Show. Her claim to current-fame is marrying the CEO of CBS. The only two shows worth a damn are "Survivor" and "Amazing Race." Martha Stewart bit the big one with her dog, and the Donald's 15 minutes of reality show fame are drawing to a close. These talent related shows are about as annoying at television can get.

It has really gotten completely out of control. As we scanned the guide Weds night it was some sort of reality tv (mostly "contest" shows) on channels 2, 4, 5, 7, 9,11 and then some! And most of them were unwatchable. |

I've only seen about a half hour of Big Brother in the time that it's been on. My impression was it was liked being locked in the DMV for a couple of months and waiting to see who gets called to the service counter next. So You Think You Can Dance on the other hand is very good. I started watching this season. I got a kick out of the first couple of episodes with the deluded characters who were absolutely awful. There was one funny point where one of the judges asks a really bad contestant about her dance background, and she told him she's been doing it for years and is a dance teacher. He asked her to stop teaching and went off on a rant about all these people who can't dance who are dance teachers, saying it was a tremendous problem. Then they showed a montage of terrible dancers who told him they were dance teachers. Initially I thought he and the other judges would be those mean-spirited judges in the mold of that guy from "American Idol" (can't watch that show, many of the singers are very good but the music is just awful). However, as the truly talented dancers took over the show, the judges showed themselves to be compassionate and really provide an education in dance technique and discerning the good from the glitzy. In the last few weeks it's been highly entertaining. There are some tremendously talented kids out there. Not only that, the ones who've lasted to the final 10 have really been great about listening maturely to the criticisms of the judges (which focussed on making them better dancers not tearing them down in front of a national audience). I think this is great television. |

Supernova should just hire Dilana now and make everyone else go home. |

To think that TV programming execs missed this boat for years on the assumption that nobody watches prime time TV in the middle of the summer. My DH makes me watch Hell's Kitchen every week. My only consolation is that I'm not missing BB All Stars or So You Think You Can Dance to do so... |

Dilana is awesome and I think she would be great to lead the band - sort of an Evanessence feel to the group, but there are a couple of other talents - Toby has great stage presence and while I don't find his singing to be anything spectacular, he can sell a performance. Zayra had been in the bottom three 3x and the show has only been on 3 weeks. She was saved by Josh this week - who was much too boring to be a rock star. However, if the world votes you into the bottom 3 every week, they must not like you very much and if they don't like you as the lead singer of the band, then why would the band want you. Her attitude stinks, too. Also, I think that SuperNova needs to all get on the same page. Last season INXS were all in agreement about perfomances. These guys each like something different. What purpose does Dave Navarro serve? |
