Due to threat of thunderstorms, Alexander Kariotis & The Rock N' Roll Orchestra has been moved to the Burgdorff Cultural Center across from the train station! See you there!! |

Weather.com has isolated T-Storms:
Unfortunately, this isn't the type of show we can wait til last minute on. Set up alone takes at least 8-10 hours, so any possible rain occuring in that time span could be potentially damaging to the equipment. It was a tough call, an outdoor show would be the preference, but better safe than sorry. For those of you who haven't seen Alex - it's quite a production, hopefully we'll have a full house and will try to get enough fans circulating to keep things comfortable. |

Understandable; the weather is unreliable. Nevertheless, this is the kind of show that is so great outside; Alex and Co. fill the sky with their music. I'm looking forward, anyway! Jamie, please bring lots and lots and lots of fans. |

Yeah, wish we could have done it outside - with any other show - we'd probably change it to outside. But at this stage, I would say that Alex has put a good 8-10 hours of set up into the show already yesterday. See everyone tonight! |

Maybe when you're on the TC, you could get a covered ampitheatre built in the park. |

We have been discussing a permanent stage for awhile. I also hear that if they upgrade the heating system at the Burgdorff - they may add AC. As for tonight - I think it may have been a better call to move inside - we have fans circulating the air and it's not bad. |

Thanks to all who came last evening and braved the slightly warm Burgdorf Center. I hope the show made it worthwhile. I can tell you for sure that the band had a wonderful time. The audience was so very appreicative of what Alex does and that inspires us. As Jamie mentioned, an awful lot goes into this production, from the writing and arranging of the songs, to the rehersals, to the set up (incredibly difficult)and to the show itself which is quite complex. David, our keyboard/musical director and I are wearing in-ear monitors throughout the show, keeping the band in sync with computer generated backing tracks. It is challenging to deal with the technical aspects and at the same time make sure that everything feels natural and musical. It is also a challange to bridge the gap between the orchestral world and the world of pure rock and roll. But that is indeed what makes this band so special and so very unique. That said, I can't tell you how much fun it is to work with such an incredibly diverse set of musicians. Ruth and Diana on violin and flute are so very accomplished and add so much. Pete is a special guitarist for sure as was shown in his solo jazz intro to the Nat King Cole song Answer Me My Love and his nylon string guitar solo in Alex's song about his childhood, "Home". Keith is a true rock and roller at heart and certainly adds credibility to that side of the band. David is an amazing keyboard player and a joy to work with. I think that he will begin to play a larger role in the show as we move on. The background singers, Amy, Katie, Ari, Julia and Michael bring a special dimension and for those of you who were there to see the duet between Alex and Amy, you know just how good her voice is! Thanks to Jim Buchannan for his patience and for keeping all forms of music alive and well in Maplewood. Thanks to Jamie for all of his help and for having just about the best attitude I've ever seen. Thanks to Tye for all of his hard work and for his computer genius! Thanks to all of my fellow musicians for the pleasure you bring me each time we get to work together. Thanks to Alex for making this whole thing possible. Special thanks to my wife, Suzan for helping me set up, pack up, set up, pack up, set up, pack up........... Hope we can do this again sometime soon. |

That duet between Alex and Amy was breathtaking in its beauty. On a separate note, my CD doesn't seem to play....any way to get a replacement? |

ess, I'm sure that Alex and Amy will appreciate your comment. I was backstage for it and it gave me goosebumps! None of us in the band had actually heard them do it until last night. As for the CD, I will let Alex know and he will get a replacement to you. Please email me with contact info. j_cordasco@yahoo.com J |
