Went to see Material Girls with kids last weekend. Without a doubt one of the worst movies in years. Since I have 3 daughters all under the age of 16, I've seen many of these kind of Disney girl movies and most of them are tolerable. This was even worse then that Olsen twins movie, Manhattan something.

One reviewer said "I didn't know actors could be dull and annoying at the same time". Perfect!

But, alas, my kids said it was good, sigh

I remember seeing Wild Wild West and George of the Jungle to entertain the nephews years back. I wanted to slit my wrists. With a baby on the way, I forsee a whole lot of bad cinema in my not so distant future.

I know I'm gonna get it, but the kids and I hated Disney's "Cars". The kids thought it was boring (I did too!) and said they didn't want to own it when it came out on DVD :-)

"even worse than the Olsen twins movie".

That simply can't be true!

I read a review, to my daughters' dismay, that gave the movie a "zero" star rating, commenting (and I quote): "The movie, which was not screened for critics, makes a joke of everyone who isn't wealthy, white and pencil thin."

See the review here: http://www.nj.com/movies/ledger/index.ssf?/base/entertainment-0/1155961685165050 .xml&coll=1

While I haven't seen the movie, my daughters, who adore Hillary Duff, won't be seeing it either.

I wish I were so lucky.

Any yes MBJ, sadly, it is true.

Here's one of the many awful lines; "you're all icing and no cupcake"

Since I don't have a girl, I get to escape the Material movie.

But I did have to sit through Cars and I completly agree with Kibbegirl. Me and the kid thought it was very boring and predictable. I could not wait for it to be over. I kept checking my watch.

We went with some friends, and some of them enjoyed it and one of them thought it was great.

I'd rather stick sharp sticks in my eyes than sit through it again.
