We're gonna try something new on Tuesday nights at Here's to the Art's. Anyone who is familiar with the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville's Songwriter Nights or Vince Scelsa's "In Their Own Words" series at the Bottom Line will be familiar with the concept. We would like to get 3-4 singer, songwriters per show to play 3-4 of their original songs and 1 song by another artist, that they wished they wrote. One of the performers will be a moderator and ask the other performers some questions on the process and influences of their writing. Performers should be able to accompany themselves on guitar, keyboard or any other portable instrument. This should be a loose, fun night where the other performers can join in with harmonies or leads if they're able. We're not looking for bands but solo singer sonwriters who write their own material. Here's to the Art's is a perfect venue for something like this, it's a great enviornment with a great sound system. Please also let singer-songwriters from towns outside of MSO know about this and ask them to send in a CD. We will review the cd/tape's we recieve and try to put together a couple of shows with singer/songwriters that would be a good mix. This should be fun. | ||
