Any "The Wire" fans see the season premiere last night? I was so excited it was back after almost two years. The reviewers are saying this is the best season yet, but I was dubious going into it last night because I had heard McNulty will be reduced to a minor role, plus I loved the now-deceased Stringer Bell. But it was amazing. Absolutely amazing. It really IS the best show on TV. It's like watching an incredibly dense, multilayered, incredibly well-scripted movie over 12 hours week by week. How interesting and incredibly poignant were the boys who work as drug dealers but try to trap pigeons the rest of the time...like little boys with this incredibly dangerous job who are really just boys underneath it?

I was pleasantly surprised by the season opener. I was a little concerned that too many of the main characters would be gone more moved to lesser roles for the season to be any good. I was wrong.
