Hi, my name is chef Jesse and I'm inviting everyone to stop in and see my new take-out restaurant located at 61 academy street. I offer a great Country French style w/ a light emphasis on cajun and southern cusine. Please feel free to drop by and pick-up a menu.

Welcome Jessie, and best wishes in your new venture...

As you're new to this board, and only doing take out, you should consider taking out a banner ad with a menu so we can see what you have to offer. BTW, do you offer a delivery service?

Are you open for lunch take-out? Lots of local businesses used to use the deli whose space you now occupy. I'll come by soon...

It does look good! Can you tell us your hours? (If it doesn't violate MOL policy on advertising within a thread)

Look at the associated thread at the top of the page (above the first post in this thread). If you click on it, you'll see the menu displayed.

Had roasted chicken with spanish rice and candied yams for $9. Delicious! And the corn bread is excellent. Can't wait to try the turkey wings. I recommend y'all give it a try.

Also a BIG thumbs up for the Caribbean place on 1st Street. We loved the stewed oxtail, rotis, rice and beans, meat patties. Not greasy, beautifully spiced, good prices, large portions. Long may they thrive!!

I had take-out there twice - turkeys wings with mac & cheese, collards and cornbread which was awesome, I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I ended up there the next night for take-out - had the chicken. Very, very good.

Speaking of Caribbean food...
I just read a book called An Embarassment of Mangoes: A Caribbean Interlude--a workaholic Canadian couple chucks it all to sail the Caribbean for two years. Their tale is quite charming, and includes much discusssion of Caribbean food, and many recipes.
Made me hungry just reading it, and now I have a place to go sample the cuisine. Cool.
(if anyone wants to borrow this book, just let me know)

The food here is so good - I think I'm addicted. Jesse is a great cook, and such a nice guy as well.

Jesse catered my daughter's adoption luncheon on Saturday. EVERYBODY raved about the food. Someone described it as "really, really good home cooking." Thanks, Jesse!

Jesse made some items for me yesterday that were not even on his menu for the day. As usual, everything was delicious and I appreciated his flexibility. Thanks again Jesse.
