We were away on vacation the last week or so. When we returned, I hear no Stern (best of) on our Palm Beach Infiniti station (WBZZ).

Did they stop playing any shows after his finale on Dec 16th?

Our Surius subscription is ready to roll on 1-9-06 when he return to extra terrestrial radio.

KROC has been broadcasting "best of" since last Monday. They have been playing some funny bits! Got Sirius for Xmas and tested it in the office today and it works great. Looking forward to 1/9!

I saw Howard on Letterman and he said that KROC offered to sell him his old shows for forty million dollars. While that may be too much, if he's really going to make five hundred million on Sirius, wouldn't it be worth his while to own them?

If KROC owns them then they can still make money off of him. I would think that Howard would want them so he could play them on Sirius or package them on CD's or DVD's etc.

Circuit City will do the installation for between $70-100 including installation accessories (wiring, etc.). It seems like they did a fine job on my car...so far reception is good. Much better than in the house anyway.

The way his contract is with Infinity, is that even though they own them, they can't use them after the contract is up. They are useless to them except to burn Stern, and to try to gauge money out of him.
The last 11 or 12 years or so are all recorded on E as part of the tv show, and he has access to that material, so for at least those years he doesn't need the Infinity tapes.

I'm not a Stern Fan, but found myself listening the last couple weeks of his KROC time. You're right with what you posted. I remember Stern saying something about how the tapes are useless to the station because they aren't allowed to use them. He and Robin were discussing how stupid it was KROC wouldn't let him have them. But by not allowing him to have the tapes it prevents Stern from using any of his material from KROC on his new show. Maybe they think he'll fail without the material?

Robin asked about E, and Howard confirmed that he owns that material so it can be used. I got a kick out of how he did everything he could to trash KROC. They deserved it.

Did anyone listen to David Lee Roth on KROC this morning interviewing his grandfather?

It was so awful -- I enjoyed it. David Lee Roth's grandpappy, although surely an interesting guy, did not make for good radio.

He reminded me of Gilbert Gottfried's brilliant impersonation on the Stern show of the eldery and befuddled Groucho Marx waxing nostalgic on the Mike Douglas show.

The only person I want to hear DLR interview is DLR - I want to hear about the days when he was Diamond Dave, I want to hear about why he was kicked out of Van Halen.

I want to hear him tell the story where he was arrested buying weed in Washington Square Park - wasn't he still famous enough to get delivery service?

Is he still a paramedic?

Near the end of the show, Roth criticized "pay radio" and came off like a jealous ex-boyfriend dissing the new pretty boy in town.

I liked it overall.

It was awful, and everything following it was just as bad, there is nowhere to tune in, in this area for music like KROCK played (and I don't mean the music they have been playing lately, the music before the last two changes is what I mean), so now that I have SIRIUS, I'm really enjoying it.
I have the home dock connected to my stereo, and I also have it transmitting the signal wirless so that I can listen to it on the bathroom radio, the one in the basement, the one in the kitchen, haven't tried the attic yet (but it may work, & if not, I can tune in over the net and stream it).

Monster - WDHA is pretty good, but there are areas even in South Orange that it doesn't come in. David Lee Roth was very hard to listen to tomorrow. Since I did not receive Sirius for Christmas, I'm gonna tough it out a few weeks before I decide if I should convert or not.

Monster I so agree about the music. I am bummed. And I miss Stern. I think I'm gonna have to convert.

Strings, I like DHA and don't even mind the AM dj's (although I miss Rob Moorehead) but they still play a bit too much AC/DC for my taste. I really wish there were an alt rock station around.

ou can always try out a three day online trial of Sirius, you get three days for each email addy you have, just do one after the other for a longer trial. I was doing this with Comcast, I would make two different addresses a week, delete them and do another two for the next week of listening.

Just click on "Listen" in the upper right corner at http://sirius.com.

tonight on channel 10, E Street Radio, you can listen to Bruce and the E Street Band live recording at the Carleton Theater in Red Bank, circa 1975. It plays at 9 and repeats at 3AM.

Monster - I will take advantage of that to the fullest, but it doesn't help with my AM commute. Fortunately, I started a new job and my commute is only 20 minutes now, not 40. Thanks for the tip though!

I've actually done that Monster. It isn't that I don't think I'd like Sirius, I think I'd love it. Question is the amount I listen to the radio vs. the amount I would spend for Sirius. Since I work 15 min from home, listen to Launch at work, and never listen at home, it doesn't make financial sense to get it.

Oh well.

I've found that I'm listening to it more than I did regular radio, which was just on.
I even found myself listening to Bluegrass this morning, now I have on Left Of Center, later...

I checked to see how far the reception goes from the FM trnasmitter and found that I picked it up three to four houses away as I went down the street, pretty good.

Loving Sirius!

SO much to listen to, and almost all without ads.

Howard's on live right now BTW...

I thought the whole point of Sirius is you can get recption anywhere? I could swear it was marketed as being able to take your unit in your car, or use it in your house. It seems pointless to have if you can't use it more then three houses away. Or am I missing somthing?

I am listening to Howard (not live I suspect) right now on Howard 100 and he sounds very different. His voice sounds muffled for some reason. Might be my reception though. Anyone else notice this. Everyone else sounds fine.
