Does anyone have an interest in jazz albums? All middle of the road kind of stuff. Miles. Coltrane. Woody Shaw. Freddie Hubbard. McCoy Tyner. Chick Corea. Email me at jeff.levine@ahsys.org if interested or if you know a store that might buy them I'd love to know. I don't want much for them and if I know you, I might not want anything. |

Jeff that sounds great, would love to make an offer-- but, like you, I have tons of Jazz LPs, many classics, sitting on the shelves, slowly being supplanted by CDs. |

Scotti's offered me $60 in store credit. Iggy's in Kenilworth offered about $100 in cash. Kinda sad that all of these memories and classic jazz albums are worth so little. Ben, if you feel like perusing what I have, for free, let me know. |

Check out what you have carefully. If some of those albums are out of print, they could be worth some money. The best indication of this would be to go on Amazon and see if they released it on CD. If it's on CD, you probably wont get much money but if it's not, it's not uncommon for a collector to pay you $30-50 or more. A good record store would know this but there not always going to tell you if you have a couple of gems. |

Sell them on ebay, either as one big lot or separate ones. |

Gone. Princeton promised the most but it just wasn't worth the trip. So sad to see these gems go for next to nothing. At least they're out of my attic now. I hope they find a good home. |

The Institute of Jazz @ Rutgers Newark may also have been a good home for your records. Few people in NJ know about the place. It's considered the foremost archive in the world for jazz. |

Too bad that you did not go the Ebay route, but given the amount of jazz LPs that you have, getting rid of them all at once may have been the most expedient thing to do. As for me, I have about 2000 LPs gathering dust, including a lot of jazz LPs. I saw a copy of the Milford Graves/Don Pullen LP that I have go for $60 on Ebay a few years ago. I may start putting some of the more interesting LPs up for sale on Ebay soon. I have a bunch of LPs on obscure labels, such as ESP and BYG. |

Mine were all pretty standard, nothing rare. But it still hurts to watch Miles Davis albums go for 25 cents each. |
