So far, but any show about habeas corpus is likely to attract me. This show deals with the fictional "National Justice Project," which works to free the wrongfully convicted. k.d. lang look-alike Kyle MacLachlan is a big-firm lawyer who cynically uses the Project's impossibly good-looking young staff to gain publicity for his profitable ventures. The wonderful British actress and singer Rebecca Pidgeon is in a role as a prosecutor and ex of the Project's lead investigator. |

Is it based on the Innocence Project from Cardozo? Sounds good. When's it on? |

Friday, Jan. 6 at 9 p.m. on ABC is the pilot. Sunday night they had a sneak peak after the Desperate Housewives clip show. It's not based on Cardozo's project, but they should probably spiff Barry Scheck and Peter Neufield a royalty for their fictionalization. This takes place in a non-academic setting in the East Bay and has a disclaimer testifying to its fiction. Cardozo's Innocence Project is featured on CourtTV now and then in documentaries about their cases. That show is "Tales of the Innocence Project" or some title like that. |

The pilot was pretty solid. It's not the most accurate show about crime. That would be "The Wire," the finest crime show ever shown on TV. The inaccuracies are mostly nitpicky so I won't share them here. Good mystery, good characters. |
