Anyone else hear this? Supposedly talk during the week, music on the weekend. Jersey 101.5 does this, but they are sucessful because the station is Jersey connected and the discussions are Jersey centered. |

Day 2 of K-Roc free radio. So far the David Lee Roth show is so bad it's good. The next show is just awfully bad-bad. From 2pm to 3pm is Penn Gillette - so far I liked both days, even though yesterday kept messing up with technical difficulties. Gillette is funny, whip-smart and can make fun of himself as easily as he pokes fun at other subjects. The "Radio Chick" is back, she used to be on the station that crashed after Opie and Anthony were fired - what was that? 103.something? I saw she went to Satellite radio, now she's at KRoc - I always wanted to like her, there aren't many female talk-radio Deejays, but I just don't like her. She has the "team", the sound effects, and she thinks on her feet, but she annoys me. She takes the easy way out with her subjects - teases and grabs an easy pop-culture ref to make her usually condescending point. I noticed the sponsors are pretty lame now - the owners of free KROC must be freaking out.

My impression of David Lee Roth is that he has some interesting thoughts, but I don't want to hear him talk about it - especially when he's all by himself. I feel like I'm being lectured even when I agree with what he's saying. I don't think I'll keep listening. I found the radio chick to be really annoying the first time around (102.7) and she isn't much better. I was a loyal Booker listener in the afternoons but will probably not tune in in the evenings now, but will miss him and his crew greatly. |

The major problem with David Lee Roth is that he doesn't listen, and he sounds so old and creaky when he tries to be cool. He was cool 20+ years ago, but he was cool because he was part of an ensemble - DLR could jump around and be "Diamond Dave", but he had Eddie and Alex Van Halen to bolster his self-absorbed posturing. Strings, I liked Booker too, I'll miss him. If KRoc was smart they would go with a hungry smart deejay instead of a "name"

But it's not the station, it's Infinity Broadcasting, these shows (besides Booker and maybe the overnight shows) are going out to all the Infinity stations that carried Stern. Infinity went to talk radio, the local stations just do as they are told, since they belong to Infinity. I listened to Booker last night, but found it hard to listen to, I had it on but I was tuned out most of the time. Today, all Sirius, all the time.... |

Now we know how the markets that didn't have Stern felt...nothing to listen to in the morning. I go back and forth between WDHA-decent music-101.5-for the traffic-and maybe try to listen to Dave. I can't wait until next week even though the fun will end when I get to work |

We can't have speakers at our desks...the music comes through the phones...pretty archaic, huh? Oh well...I'm going to try and change the station next week anyway. Any more Lite FM, I will go nuts. There's only so much Rod Stewart/Stevie Nicks/bad disco a person can take in a day |

Monster, I've been around. Just don't usually listen to 92.3. I think they are going to have problems keeping people tuned into their station. the all talk format won't cut it. The true Stern fans are going to pay to hear him. Like I said I'm not a Stern Fan, I just listened a little the last month or so. |

Listen to WFUV and expand your musical meals...really a great station, 90.7. WBGO is wonderful for jazz. Always hated Howard's mysogynistic silicone-loving non-humor and, most of all, Robin's demonic sycophantic laughter. Stuttering John was cool, though. Listen well all. David |

For those of you who are looking for an oldies station after losing our last one, please try 1250 AM. It has some of the best oldies around. The signal is not that strong but all around here should be able to pick it up. |
