Has anyone had their tile reglazed? I want to update my bathroom and I'm trying to avoid a full bathroom renovation but have very old green/yellow tiles from the 70's. Any help would be appreciated.

Just had it done by Mr. Ugly Tub - really made a quick, cheap difference in our ugly powder room.
you're welcome to come take a peek

doulamomma,

I would love to see your tiles. We have a huge green tiled bathroom with floor to ceiling tiles and I've been toying with the idea of reglazing them for a while. I was considering usign a place in paramus called topkote but their price was a little high. My real concern is that it will look strange or sloppy. Did you do white, did you find Mr. ugly reasonably priced?

thanks doulamomma. I had a nice conversation with Mr. Ugly (great name by the way) and learned a bit more about what they do. Were you happy with the end product of the grout and tile being the same color? there is apparently another proces that is slightly different whereby they remove the finish on the tile first and then apply a paint and refinish. Not sure of the cost differences yet.

Hi,
Sorry for the delay - somehow didn't check back here...
For our needs (small powder room), I thought it was fine...the price seemed OK given how little inconvenience/speed (anything else I could think to do would have been more money/mess/time)...I could show you before pics - it's pretty dramatic. A few folks have asked us if we retiled, so I guess the grout/tiles being the same isn't overwhelming. I did biscuit, by the way, which is a warm white, but the difference is subtle (Mr. Ugly suggested it!)
As I said, feel free to contact me to check it out.
