I want something in a beigy/sandy/earthy tone, and although I like the coloring of granite, I dont like the super polished sheen. I know travertine is a no-go for counters, but does anyone have any ideas on what might give that textured look of travertine on countertops? It seems that soapstone only comes in black/green varieties..

Thanks!

Granite does not have to have a high-polished finish. You can also get a matte finish, but I believe that is more expensive.

You can have the granite honed.........have the granite people show you the samples you want in the honed finish.

Unless you are set on the idea of natural stone, I would take a look at Corian. Sounds like something you might be looking for. There are some great new colors they've recently come out with.
