I want something in a beigy/sandy/earthy tone, and although I like the coloring of granite, I dont like the super polished sheen. I know travertine is a no-go for counters, but does anyone have any ideas on what might give that textured look of travertine on countertops? It seems that soapstone only comes in black/green varieties.. Thanks! |

Granite does not have to have a high-polished finish. You can also get a matte finish, but I believe that is more expensive. |

You can have the granite honed.........have the granite people show you the samples you want in the honed finish. |

Unless you are set on the idea of natural stone, I would take a look at Corian. Sounds like something you might be looking for. There are some great new colors they've recently come out with. |
