We're looking to get our wooden steps taken out and go brick. Does anyone have any recommendations or know how much it costs? We have about 4-5 steps and about 4x5 ft of a landing between the steps and the door. Thanks.

The cost to have ours rebuilt to approximately that size (it's currently smaller) was estimated to cost $6000-7000. We decided to just repair our existing steps. I'm sure there are many factors in price, this might have included using our existing bricks (in which case yours would be more expensive) and involved demolishing our current steps (which means yours might be cheaper, since wood is easier to demo).

bdk,

We are in the midst of having a porch built. It's a much bigger project than the one you describe, so I don't know what yours might cost. I can, however, highly recommend our builders and mason. PL me for info.

Wow that sounds high! I had the brick entryway and landing in my prior house demolished and replaced with a larger stone one for about $4000. This was a couple of years ago and the work was done by Dean Weiss, who did a great job. I had another quote that was more like $6000 from another landscaper that I felt was pricing the job based upon what he felt I could afford to pay.

Give Carmine's Landscaping & Construction a call. I had them put a new brick face on my front steps with limestone treads. The landing is 3x4 with bluestone. They did a great job and cost about $2500. This was done a few years ago so prices might change but I would use them again . Very responsive and professional, call them at 973-763-6626.

About 3 months ago I had several masons give me an estimate of about $5k for 7 steps (brick riser and bluestone top) and a short walkway (concrete lined with brick). Weird that they were all right around the same price.

We went with Luigi who is an advertiser on this board. They also rebuilt a couple of brick stairs and a bluestone landing and some front sidewalk. They did great work.

PL me if you want more info.
