Palmer at the corner of Valley and Vauxhall is a "pro" kind of place. Some find them amateur unfriendly. I have never been there.

NJ Plumbing on Newark Way. Also a pro place. I was treated fine the couple of times I went there.

I like Community Plumbing on Route 22 (center island) in Springfield. They are homeowner friendly, but I don't think their prices are anything to right home about.

I've heard good things about NJ Plumbing, but haven't used them. I did use Palmer once to get a "toilet flusher thingy" replacement, and they were courteous and helpful. I got what I needed and they didn't laugh when I used the technical term "Toilet Flusher Thingy"...

Palmer is great, does not have Kohler, however.

There is another great place in West Orange, on the continuation of Valley St -- they also have a very nice bath showcase, a smaller version of what Expo used to have. (BUT I can't think of the name!)

I have bought lots of basic design fixtures/faucets/etc. at Palmer, at excellent prices. The first time I visited them, I had just walked out of the bathroomw showroom on Millburn Avenue, where the staff had pointedly ignored me (I assume because I didn't look likely to be a big spender). Palmer was a refreshing change from that!

Palmer is amateur friendly. They were very helpful when I needed some radiator vents. Like most plumbing stores, I would recommend going in when they are not extremely busy.

Singac in Cedar Grove/Little Falls on Pompton Avenue carries the full line of Kohler.

I will never go to Palmer again. As a woman, they completely ignored me. I use Maplewood Plumbing across from the bus depot on Springfield Ave or Community on Rt 22.

Palmer doesn't like people walking in with a problem and no pictures or broken parts. They will tell you to get a plumber if you seem clueless. If you bring the part that isn't working or leaking, they will help you put together the best way to fix it.
