Hi! We recently got a window estimate from Bil-Ray, who contracts through BJ's. I beleive their windows are manufactured by Accu-Weld. Anyone have any experience with the Bil-Ray installers, or with Accu-Weld windows? They are vinyl replacements, double pane, low-E coating with argon gas and the PPG Intercept spacer. One good thing is that the 'lifetime' warranty is supposedly transferable to a new owner when you sell the house.

The estimate came out to just under $9k for 15 windows, which vary from basement windows, to smallish bathroom windows up to somewhat large double hungs.

Sounds rather high to me.Averages out at $600 per.Why by the way, would you even consider buying windows at B.J.s.You know that their gonna have get theirs out of the deal which might increase the price, and with so many knowledgable window contractors and manufacturers out there, its not like their the only game in town.I'd worry more about quality, than I would about a supposed transferable, lifetime warranty, which is only as good as the company that issues it.

One of my friends had windows installed by Homefix Corp a couple of months ago and they looked like the exact same windows (Accu-Weld). Bil-Ray has done installations for Home Depot and Sears for years, and from what the salesman said (taken with a pillar of salt), the discount off their retail price is 35% for BJ's vs 25% for Sears. It's supposedly a way for the installer to get more work by partnering with a larger organization. Bil-Ray has been around since the late 40's (another one of their sales points).
