We had our kitchen refaced 3 yrs. ago and have been very happy with it. Our cabinets were very sound (well built) and we did not need to reconfigure our layout so we felt this would be a good option for us. Our kitchen was most likely redone in the early 70's - dark "wood grain" formica cabinets and yellow countertops - yuck! We felt all we needed was a "facelift" and this is exactly what we got. The main person who actually installed it (new door fronts and new countertop) is no longer with the company we had chosen. He now has his own business in South Jersey, but he'll travel. We got quotes from 3 companies - Kitchen Magic, Home Remodelers Group? (I think Sears subcontracts them) and the people we used. Of course, price will depend on size of kitchen, type of materials, etc. We have a good sized kitchen. The quotes we got (3 yrs. ago) ranged from $6800 to $10,000.
