Anyone know what the current cost of a new site survey is?

We had to have ours "updated"--meaning the company that did the original survey when we purchased the house in 1997 came out, spent 15 minutes looking at current conditions (and ultimately got them wrong), updated the details (incorrectly), and billed us $400.

I'll pay once the details are correct (and it seems I need to draw them myself) if that's the going rate. Seems like a lot of money for a few minutes work.

That's pretty close to what we paid three years ago for the same thing. We had them add the locations of the major trees as well.

When he is finished make sure you get a CD copy of the drawing. (The majority of the surveyors are working with software now.) Once you have the CD you can print out as many copies as you need at a whole variety of scales.

When I recently received a Good Faith Estimate from a lender they estimated $400 for a site survey.
