Does anyone have a resource to get high quality custom or semi-custom wood shutter replacements? I want to match the 1937 originals on our house, but don't know where to turn.

Search the internet. These are pricey, especially if you want ones with moving louvers.

We are planning to order ours on Timberlane.com. They do custom shutters that can match the ones on our 1938 house, and also have some shutter hardware.

We found decent all wood ones at Jaeger lumber on MOrris Ave. in Union. (The carpenter bees ate a zillion holes in our others, so we replaced them when we painted the house.)

I got our shutters from Timberlane. They are flat panel and were about $300/window.

I bought the hardware from The Philadelphia Shutter Company as they seemed to have better prices for the same hardware. They also let you pick your shutter options and give you the price online, which is nice. Looks like operable louvers are about $150 extra per window, depending on size.

Both companies let you customize the shutters and Timberlane will make exact duplicates if needed. I found both of the companies had good customer service.

Last Spring I went to the Timberlane Millworks in North Wales, Pa and took a pair of my old shutters that had a custom cut-out. They made me 5 new pairs and I had several options available. The shutters arrive primed gray and since they are shipped from out of state, there is no sales tax. They are wonderful and I am planning to have 5 more pairs made for my second floor. The custom template is stored in my records there. My salesperson was Nickole Taft. They were also able to supply me with the same type of hanging hardware, so I did not have to remove what was on the house.
