Installed a few of these Andersen windows and are pleased. Best quote came from Jaeger Lumber in Union. http://www.andersenwindows.com/UE/ProductGuide/Residential/400TiltWashOverview.a sp |

Andersen does not make replacement windows under the Andersen name. They do under Renewal by Andersen, a very costly replacement window. There have been lots of posts on replacement windows. I still stand by my Quantum 2 replacements who you can get from Roeland Home Improvers. Dollar for dollar they can't be beat on performance and reliability. A number of us around here have them and everyone seems as happy as I am with them. 973-586-7900 www.quantum2.net |

HG Edwards in Summit. We dealt with Dennis Corcoran. They were reasonable, knowledgable, andn the installaers were very neat and respectful of our home (908) 273-3224. |

Adobe, what is your criterea when looking for a window? Most people replace there windows for the following reasons IMHO; Asthetics, Energy loss, ease of operation, to reduce maintenance, to increase resale value. What is your main reason? I feel this is what everyone should be concerned about before reccomending anyone, again IMHO. |

I would not go with Dream House Windows/AKA Newtown Manufacturing. Though the low E Argon double pane windows are good, the installation is very sloppy. Also would not go with Sears or Hope Cheapo (Depot), as they gauge you considerably, and misrepresent their stuff (and it is different from what you see displayed in their stores). |

Morris Window and Siding. They install Schuco windows. Best replacements out there. Triple pained, krypton filled, low E. They do a great job. Shucco is a german brand, do a search and you will find that they blow anderson, pella, etc out of the water. We paid $15K for 1 picture window, 2 casements and 19 windows. They are double tilt in, automatic locking. What a difference in temperature in our house this winter. http://www.schuco-windows.com/pages/8/ |

We also used HG Edwards based on a MOL recommendation and would not hesitate to use them again. |

We just had United windows installed by Essex Window and Door. They are made locally in Springfield, and look nice (as good as vinyl can look, I think). They were also great installers. I've only had them a few days, so I can't say much more! |
