Have some sliding glass tub doors I'd like to get rid of. See some screws on the sides but wondering if I will damage the tub by pulling them off (since they appear grouted to the actual tub edge). Anyone have experience with this? |

From inside the tub, take off the plstic guide that keeps the doors straight and grabbing the inside door, pull towards you a little and lift up.You might want to set a towel or pc.of carpet in the tub to then set the door on.Repeat with other door. The head pc.[across the top]should lift off.Take a utility knife and run it down both sides of the side pcs.,unscrew the screws and gently pry away from wall using a flat blade putty knife, starting at the top and working your way down. The bottom track should then lift right up although you may find an accumulation of caulk which may require using the putty knife again.Be advised that you'll probably have a stain under the track which you'll not be able to scrub off and will have to look at whenever the cutain is open. |

Do use some caution when pulling the sides off the tile. They used liquid nails on ours and when I tried to pry it off from the top it chipped the tile. I had to use a hammer and putty knife to get the rails off. It was a huge drag. Jolynn |
