I have 2 bedroom radiators that get fully hot when the boiler first fires up at a temperature setting of 74F. However, throughout the night, both radiators are stone cold. Only towards the morning around 7AM do they warm up again.

If I increase the temp setting to 78F in middle of night to get the boiler going again, then the 2 radiators become hot again (after some banging in the pipes).

BTW, I have 3 other bedroom radiators that continuously emit heat throughout the night at same temp setting of 74F.

I thought maybe the problem with the 2 cold radiators is a faulty steam trap but my plumber/heating expert told me that b/c the return valve/steam trap was hot initially when the boiler fired up, it means that the steam trap is working properly.

Is this true? how can I get these 2 radiators hot throughout the night like the others? What can/should I fix?

So your plumber/heating expert has decided the trap is not the source of the problem. Then what did he do?
