I got a few quotes last year and went with Frank's tree service - very fast, very efficient and the price was extremely competitive.

Bartlett, in Denville. Ask for Jason. They're very helpful and knowledgable about all things arboreal.

we had two huge trees removed that Maplewood Tree Service quoted us a price of about $10,000 per tree. Well we did not just fall off the back of a cabbage truck and tried Friendly Tree service and they did the work for about 2500. They did a very good job and we were pleased. cecilia

I second the recommendation for Todd Lamm. He trimmed a tree for me and cut out some girdling roots. I couldn't ask for a better experience.

ceceilia- he (Carlo) probably did not want the job- too busy or something. He took down an enormous oak for $2500 for us just a few years ago. I guess the moral for msb is, get multiple estimates.
