i have about 6 arborvitae that the previous owners planted between our house and the house on the corner. they get no sun and are very sparse and about 5-6 feet tall. i'm thinking of trying to save them by transplanting them to a different (more sunny) part of the yard. but i'm not sure if they can be saved. if i give it a shot, when would be the best time to make the transplant? any thoughts on whether i should trim them back? or is it best to not stress them beyond the move itself this season?

thanks in advance.

i would transplant asap before new growth and i would also give them a haircut...you need to keep them watered and mulched.
